Job Title: Maintenance Technician IIIRequisition ID: req654Application Deadline: Open until filledRegular or Temporary: RegularSalary Range: 28,499.00 – 28,499.00 AnnuallyESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES* Assist with maintenance of campus buildings and dorms including, but not limited to, carpentry skills, utilizing power saws and other various tools.* Perform various repairs and install of different types of flooring including but not limited to VCT, vinyl plank, ceramic tile and carpet.* Perform plumbing maintenance as assigned.* Provide basic assistance to the Campus Electrical and HVAC departments as assigned.* Paint various components on campus as assigned.* May have to access small spaces such as ceilings and attics.* May have to work outside as needed* Primarily an Evening Shift position-1:30 to 10:00 pm* Emergency on call duties as needed* Perform other duties as assigned by the SupervisorCOMPETENCIESKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities* Knowledge of basic plumbing skills, basic electrical skills, and routine maintenance.* Strong interpersonal skills to interact with public, students, and College employees.* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, and maintenance instructions.* Advanced ability to work with hand and power tools and power saws.* Ability to lift 60 pounds.QUALIFICATIONSRequired EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentRequired ExperienceMinimum of five years related experience and/or trainingCredentials: Certifications/LicensuresMust have a valid Texas driver’s license with a good driving recordOther Expectations* May have contact – in person, by email, or by phone – with staff, students, and the general public.* Must exhibit a sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.* Perform other duties as assigned.
