Brokerage Specialist (M-F 8:30a-5:30p)


This is a Full-time position in El Paso, TX posted May 29, 2021.

Job Summary

The Brokerage Specialist supports the day-to-day activities within Customs Brokerage operations. He/She supports supervisors/managers with various tasks including but not limited to: entry transmission, data analysis, complex reporting, and verifying the accurate completion of transactions and internal processes.  He/She monitors processes for quality as well as compliance with customs regulations and internal audit requirements.  He/She provides customer care by ensuring the timely disposition of freight and paperwork along with assisting in problem resolution.  This individual will monitor and oversee Reporting, Document Management and Internal and Exteral Customer Projects.

The Brokerage Specialist generates customized customer facing reports to identify trends, process improvements, issues, and satisfaction level.s  He/She supports day to day activities monitoring processes for quality as well as compliance with Customs Regulations.  This position verifies data integrity to meet requirements of Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) and customer.

Other Duties

  • Serves as a liaison between the client, the government, and third party agencies to ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Collaborates with operations to escalate and resolve service failures.
  • Provides customers with information on shipment and order entry changes, customer specific issues, analysis of metrics to keep customers well-informed, and to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Updates customer customers’ profiles and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure customer information is accessible, thorough, and accurate and customer requirements documented. 
  • Resolves Customers problems in a timely manner to meet customers’ expectations and avoid penalties
  • Manages complex data files to create and develop efficiencies for management.  Resolves Customer’s problems in a timely manner to meet customers’ expectations and avoid penalties
  • Supports management with tasks as needed
  • Manages projects to support the business

 Preferred Competencies

  • Detail Orientation: Captures/documents specific and accurate information; learns subjects thoroughly and in detail; completes work with thoroughness; supplies appropriate details when requested; maintains organized files.
  • Conducts Customer Analysis: Works with others to research stakeholders’ and key decision-makers’ needs, requirements, and perspectives; describes in general terms customer characteristics, preferences, history, processes and constraints; lists what products and services are currently used by customers; uses knowledge of customers to provide input into which products or features to promote.
  • Report Generation: Possesses ability to generate simple reports using basic functions in software, and/or writing basic queries; identifies information required to complete reports and identifies existing reports generated by others.
  • Supply Chain Management: Demonstrates a basic understanding of supply chain concepts; identifies issues within a supply chain.

  • Associate’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) – Preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) – Preferred
