OVERVIEWCable systems installer-maintainers are primarily responsible for the maintenance of cable/wire communications systems, communication security devices and other associated equipment. This equipment needs to consistently work in order for the Army to direct the movement of its troopsJOB DUTIESPerform test on cable communications systems and circuit groupsOperate manual and motorized cable construction equipmentInstall and repair circuits and wiringMaintenance on power generatorsREQUIREMENTSThose who want to serve must first take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery, a series of tests that helps you better understand your strengths and identify which Army jobs are best for you.TRAININGJob training for a cable systems installer-maintainer requires 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and eight weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job instruction.
