Cargowise System Analyst

Job Description

We seek a motivated individual with experience as a Business Systems Analyst with Freight Forwarding, domestic, International, warehousing, experience.

Use of the CARGOWISE shipping system a must. Having worked with import/export operations for at least 3 years would be an advantage.


• Knowledge of using the CARGOWISE system is a key component for this position.
• Serve as the liaison between the system users and the development team to help design and develop, process and procedures, focusing on the CargoWise application.
• Facilitates and documents the interactive system requirement sessions to capture business rules, workflow, project goals, and project benefits.
• Plans and prepares technical reports and memorandum as documentation of program development.
• Provides assistance as required to organizations outside of the company (vendors, customers) to develop/improve automation that crosses company boundaries.
• Maintains an effective user-support relationship from facilitation of training to day today functionality.
• Performs training sessions to users as required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years CARGOWISE system experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience Microsoft office suite (Visio, Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Minimum 4 years of experience as a business analyst
• Able to travel up to 25% (Domestic/International)

• Operational Knowledge of Air and Ocean Import/Export documentation (Mawb/BOL) processing

Other skills required:

• Train and educate staff on how to best use CARGOWISE

• Ability to work independently on projects and also collaborate as a team player.

• Detail orientated with strong organizational/project management skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong time management skills and a respect for deadlines.

• Driven, innovative team-player who is focused on results and strives to deliver a superior work product.

• Unquestioned personal and professional integrity

• Ability to develop training programs and facilitate.

• Previous experience in areas of process improvement.
• Works independently with limited supervision, coordinating projects to closure.
• Customer service and/or product support
• Prior experience as business analyst within a logistics company.

Reporting & Documentation
• Prepares application release notes, monthly progress reports
• Prepares elegant ‘how to’ documents on new features
• Assists with development of user guides
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
