Our National Billing Center has an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Collections Analyst with DHL Express in North Houston, TX. This important role will be responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing policies and procedures for investigating and evaluating new and existing customer creditworthiness, extending or revoking credit lines/limits, and collecting on overdue accounts. Coordinating with sales or other divisions in the resolution of billing disputes that affect the ability to collect receivables. Making decisions regarding bad debt or customer goodwill write-offs. Recommending and overseeing third party action when internal collections are deemed no longer effective. Overseen bankruptcy claims filing and defense of preference claims from bankruptcy courts.

The selected candidate will be in charge of investigating and analyzing credit risks, using available internet and credit agency tools and information. Resolves credit problems at various complexity levels. recommends/implements credit extensions/revocations, and/or legal action where necessary. Develops and maintains sound relationships with credit agencies. Prepares credit and collection reports. Monitors and contacts past due accounts to arrange for payments. Negotiates extensions and modifications of payment terms, and arranges pay schedules. Coordinates with Service Center management to mitigate revenue loss exposure through the control of CBO violations by the centers. Coordinates with Sales, Pricing and other internal departments to resolve customer disputes over invoicing related to contractual agreements. May develop, recommend and implement credit and collections processes and policy changes. May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less-experienced credit and collections staff.

Other Tasks and Accountabilities:

Autonomy: Nature of work requires increasing independence. Receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct customers of the process.

Impact: Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/assignments that have direct impact on department and area results. Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause delays in program schedules and may require a moderate expenditure of resources to rectify.

Knowledge: Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately complex assignments.

People Management: May provide general guidance/direction or train junior level personnel in Associate and Professional roles.

Problem Complexity: Performs professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate action to resolve.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Intermediate-level professional contributor.
* Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years experience in related field or MS/MA and generally 1-3 years of experience in related field
* Professional certification is required in some areas
