THIS POSITION REQUIRES A ROTATING SCHEDULE EVERY 90 DAYS.

***Job Purpose:Produce plastic compounds by configuring and operating production and blending equipment according to prescribed methods and criteria, providing oversight of others supporting plant operations, preparing blends, performing material handling tasks, performing line change over between grades, and assisting other production personnel to maintain plant housekeeping.Essential Functions and Requirements:Production tasks include but are not limited to: cleaning, inspecting, configuring, and operating production equipment according to documented procedures and other instructions provided by management; performing equipment adjustments and minor repairs as needed with limited supervision to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, product quality, and plant performance criteria; properly documenting operational activity according to established procedures and other instructions provided by management; communicating any operational defects and/or equipment repairs necessary to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations; assisting management personnel with problem resolution and documenting any resulting actions; maintaining housekeeping of the production line area; and performing other tasks as directed by management.Blending tasks include but are not limited to: properly selecting, verifying and weighing ingredients, and labeling containers, all according to documented procedures and instructions provided by management; properly documenting and evaluating blending activity according to established procedures and other instructions provided by management; communicating any deficiencies to management; assisting management with problem resolution related to blending and documenting any resulting actions; maintaining housekeeping of the blend rooms; and performing other tasks directed by management.Material handling tasks include but are not limited to: frequently using a forklift, pallet jack or similar device to transport material and other items; using pneumatic transfer equipment, piping and hoses to transport materials from/to silos and railcars according to documented procedures and other instructions provided by management; regularly verifying andmaintaining proper connections of transfer piping and hoses according to criteria provided by management; sampling and/or visually inspecting materials stored in packages, railcars and silos as directed by management; manually transferring material using a bucket or similar device; assembling, filling and/or disassembling of packages.Shift and line changeover, housekeeping, and other general tasks include but are not limited to: disassembling, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling equipment according to documented procedures and other instructions provided by management; repackaging, sealing, and labeling of ingredient containers as needed; general organization and cleanup of work areas.The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential job functions listed above.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands & fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls; reach repetitively witharms & hands; talk; and hear.

The employee is required to walk, sit, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl and stoop.

The employee will frequently lift items up to 55 pounds from floor level to above shoulder height and use devices that require a pushing or pulling force up to 120 pounds.

The employee will climb ladders and perform tasks at heights greater than 6 feet and stand on concrete floor or platform regularly throughout a 12 hour shift.
