We do what we say.® http://www.Dayzim.Com Supplier Quality Engineer Position needed for a full-time, staff opportunity with Day & Zimmermann located in Texarkana, TXThe Work You’ll Be Doing:Conduct supplier quality audits to assess new and potential Supplier process capabilities, Quality System compliance and risk.

Evaluate application of SPC or other statistical techniques for products manufactured for LS/KSImplement and manage a supplier corrective action program that will assure timely response times and effective Root Cause Corrective Actions to open issues and concerns.Utilize a Supplier development program to assure that Day & Zimmermann receives quality products on time, every time, cost effectively.

Coordinate with Suppliers to ensure they understand product/service requirements, inspection techniques and documentation expectations.Where applicable, team up with suppliers on timely submittal of product qualification plans (FAAT) and CDRL itemsProvide guidance to Receiving Inspection on inspection techniques and supplier documentation review.

Work with the Purchasing department to assure a streamlined method to prevent defective products and incomplete/incorrect documentationCreate a supplier quality rating system that will effectively monitor and measure supplier performance.What You Need to Bring to the Table:Bachelor’s Degree Required.

Preferred degrees include STEM curriculum preferably Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.5 years minimumASQ: CQE Preferred or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP) preferredISO 9001 Auditor Level, Experience with munitions in a manufacturing environment working with metal fabrication.Great attitude, self-sufficient, and team player.Successful completion of background screening process.

The Big Picture – Top Skills You Should Possess:Will have a fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain Management and risk management.

Be able to review supplier contracts, and effectively communicate expectations to the supplier.Will be able to identify and evaluate risk in Supplier’s systems, processes and documentation and initiate prevention techniques.

Be able to identify risks in terms of on-time delivery and quality, and coordinate with Purchasing and the Supplier on mitigation of those risksWill be able to analyze supplier quality tools and develop verification/validation plans as well as verify the effectiveness of mitigation.

Will be able to provide guidance to the Supplier on use of SPC and other statistical tools to control processes.Will be able to interpret technical specifications & drawings, evaluate supplier capabilities, communicate with suppliers both verbally and in writing, develop processes and product qualification planning, and collaborate on validation requirementsWill be able to assess nonconforming products, processes or services, evaluate root cause analysis, and work with suppliers to implement corrective/preventive actions for continuous improvementMust be able to perform the following physical and mental tasks:Visual acuity (e.G., needed to prepare and analyze data, to transcribe documents, to view a computer, to read, to inspect objects, to operate machinery.Repetitive motion of any part of the body.Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time.Ability to read complex documents in the English language.Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.Ability to write complex documents in the English language.Capacity to express thoughts orally.)
