Worth, TX officeHours: Monday through Friday 8:00am 5:00pmThis is a full time position.

No short term contract or temp to hire role.

Firstsource will train anyone interested in stepping into a new career in the medical insurance field!Overview:The Federal Advocate screens and processes referred patient cases for medical assistance programs.

Specializes in State Medicaid and Miscellaneous Program cases and attends training in SSI/SSDI disability programs.

#IND-MAQualificationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.Screens clients for eligibility to public benefits, including Medicaid, Crime Victims, Kidney Health, County Indigent Health Care, and SSI and SSDI, etc.Completes appropriate applications and forms and assists in gathering necessary documents and proofs to establish eligibility.

Functions as the patient’s/client’s Public Benefits Advocate, in that the PBA attends agency initial interviews when necessary, appeals denials appropriately, files for and develops cases up to the OHA Hearing date, and negotiates with the appropriate administrative agency as the client’s representative in order to secure maximum benefits.Initiates follow-up activities with the administrative agency(ies) according to the general periods established by Firstsource advocacy policy and/or procedure for the appropriate program.Develops/obtains evidence to support public benefit claims, including developing/obtaining medical evidence needed to prove disability, as required by company Advocacy Protocol or the government agency.

Submits accurate invoicing information to the appropriate member and/or Hospital Staff when benefits have been awarded.

Attends ongoing training on SSI/SSDI disability determinations/listings, pre-OHA hearings development, as well as other developmental training.
