MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

We have an immediate opening for a Global Accounts Payable Process Owner.

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Accounts Payable function and developing solutions that support successful delivery, fixes and enhancements to the process as an optimal “best practice” function within the company.


Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ensure timely processing of invoices and payments to vendors.

Oversee outsourced service provider to ensure operations are reliable, accurate and processing timelines are met.

Communicate with internal and external stakeholders and ensure timely response to inquiries.

Develop and manage key performance indicators to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of AP operations.

Develop, implement, and train Accounts Payable processes and policies internally; ensuring good communication with operational offices and personnel.

Solve Accounts Payable inquires by working together with the outsourced partner and providing feedback timely.

Review and approve payment runs on a weekly basis (ACH, wires, checks).

Must be familiar with bank portals.

Review and audit invoices for appropriate documentation, including contracts, proper approvals and coding according to expense policy.

Gather monthly AP accruals ensuring no material misstatements occur.

Maintenance of AP aging schedule.

Ensure that global Accounts Payable policies and procedures are followed, communicated, maintained and monitored within the organization and with external vendors.

Responsible for escalation of issues to management in timely manner.

Enforce approval authorities as designated by the company.

Must maintain a strong focus on cross functional teamwork with both internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and promote a positive customer service attitude internally and externally.

Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and Company policy at all times.

Carry out other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job; Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illness immediately.

10+ years of Accounts Payable and G/L experience.

3+ years of Accounts Payable supervisory experience.

Experience in process development and improvement working with an outsourced provider REQUIRED.

Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

Knowledge of process and policy mapping, development and improvement.

Good data analysis and multi-tasking skills Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable Ability to train others on basic Accounts Payable policies and procedures.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.

People management skills including coaching, mentoring, and correcting behaviors in a motivating way Possess strong organizational and time management skills Valid Driver’s license with the ability to meet the MRC Global vehicle policy and the ability to travel as needed.

Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status; Ability to read, speak, and write in English proficiently to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries; Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
