Provides detailed information on and refers students to University resources that can assist in meeting their needs or solving their problems.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide detailed advising or direction to graduate students, faculty, and staff related to all aspects of progressing through any graduate degree program.Advise graduate students in areas involving admissions, standardized tests, transfer work, filing of degree plans, various petition processes, changes of curriculum, ombuds issues, examination procedures, authorized signatures, other University graduate degree requirements, and graduation.Coordinate the review of graduate degree evaluations and clearing students for graduation.Provides supervisory assistance with graduation ceremonies.Advise faculty/staff in areas involving transfer work, non-degree seeking work, various official University forms, examination procedures, authorized signatures, other University graduate degree requirements, and graduation.Process official University graduate student documents related to all aspects of degree plans.Advise students with procedural and probationary concerns.Oversee microfilming of all graduated graduate student records.Stay abreast and maintain extensive knowledge of University graduate student policies and procedures.Uses Compass for degree evaluation, classification, degree requirements, etc.This document represents the major duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this job, and is not intended to be a complete list of all tasks and functions.

Other duties may be assigned.Additional ResponsibilitiesImplement recruiting/retention strategies for prospective/current graduate students through various media and communication platforms.Assist with the creation, revision, and updates of all Graduate Studies brochures, applications, postcards, and other literature associated with the programs.Recommend, design, and create new outreach and recruitment marketing concepts.Assist in managing the office’s social media platformsMinimum RequirementsEducation
– Bachelor’s degree.Experience
– Two years of experience in office environmentAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be preferred.Preferred Education and ExperienceExperience in higher education.Knowledge of Banner student information system.Experience in data management.Experience in recruiting.Knowledge of financial aid applications (FAFSA) and/or testing (GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc.)Knowledge of Graduate Admission processes.Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:Word processing and spreadsheet applications.Ability to:Multitask and work cooperatively with others.Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.Verbal and written communication skills.Preferred Knowledge and AbilitiesKnowledge of:Strong interpersonal and networking skills to interact and work collaboratively and professionally with internal and external constituents.Strong time-management skills and multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.Ability to:Work independently and with initiative.Maintain confidentiality.Licensing / Professional Certification
