Head of HR Operations & People Services


This is a Full-time position in Austin, TX posted July 8, 2021.

COMPANY is looking for an operationally minded, experienced Head of People Services to provide leadership over several core areas of human resources as the company continues to grow and evolve.  The Head of People Services will be responsible for ensuring our talent processes, tools and policies support the objectives of our fast-paced business, partnering with the leaders of our HR COEs – Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development – as well as our team of HRBPs, to ensure we support and enable our talent to perform at their best! 


  • Driving strategic and operational excellence across core areas of People Operations, including: Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Employee Experience, Policy & Compliance, HRIS management and administration, plus People Analytics
  • Establishing and fostering consultative relationships with leaders throughout the organization in order to understand the business and create the appropriate HR solutions.
  • Collaborating with other leaders within the People & Culture department to ensure a seamless and integrated employee experience across the full employee life cycle – from hire to onboarding to development to offboarding 
  • Designing best-in-class talent management approaches through innovative career pathing, goal setting, performance review, talent calibration, succession planning and recognition practices 
  • Improving the HRIS functional systems, processes, and policies in order to deliver best-in-class technology solutions
  • Leading the Total Rewards function (comp/ben) by participating in market surveys, conducting job evaluations, leading salary & bonus planning and compensation management initiatives.
  • Partnering with Finance/Accounting to ensure accurate and timely pay practices 
  • Leading the Benefits design and implementation process for the company including partnering with brokers and carriers to deliver innovative solutions to employees, delivering high impact wellness initiatives, as well as managing LOA administration, ADA accommodations and ensuring general compliance 
  • Advising and guiding management and HRBPs in employee relations and ensuring consistency and adherence to company policies and applicable employment law.
  • Leading the employee engagement survey, conducting analysis, and partnering with the business on action planning to create a Best Place to Work.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to drive COMPANY’s diversity & inclusion agenda forward, supporting it with the right HR policies and procedures 
  • Delivers impactful reporting/analytics on key talent metrics such as headcount, retention, turnover, promotion rates, engagement, onboarding experience, leave tracking, employee performance, etc.
  • Project planning & management of mid to large scale projects. 

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; graduate degree preferred 
  • 12+ years of broad ranging HR experience with clear progression in scope/responsibility
  • 5+ years experience managing and developing teams
  • Experience working in a small-to-midsize, fast growing organization a must; additional experience working at larger, enterprise level companies a plus 
  • Proven experience and expertise across the core HR areas required for the role, including: Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Policy & Compliance, HRIS management and administration, HR Data/Analytics
  • Experience managing HR Business Partner teams a plus 
  • Possesses the vision and skill to effectively link business goals with enabling HR strategies and developing strong relationships and partnerships
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience driving insights from large HR data sets, plus the ability to convey those insights to a mixed audience
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen effectively and communicate in a clear yet empathetic manner
  • To have a demonstrated ability to design, implement and leverage HR strategies to help drive measurable business results
  • To have strong business facing skills, knowing when to push back and skilled at balancing priorities
