DHA HOUSING SOLUTIONS FOR NORTH TEXASJOB VACANCIESAPRIL 27, 2021JOB TITLE: FAMILY SELF-SUFFICIENCY COORDINATORSALARY RANGE: $31,200 – $45,716LOCATION: VOUCHER PROGRAMSSummary: Under general supervision FSS Coordinator Supervisor, assists clients in becoming self-sufficient by developing strategies for reaching economic independence and administration/oversight of HUD FSS Grants.Essential Job Functions: The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Shown are duties intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.* Monitors clients progress by maintaining contact, making referrals and calculations, providing workshops and educational opportunities and updating the needs of the client.* Enters information into the computer system to notate and document client contacts, referrals, new resources and information on a quarterly basis* Interviews clients by telephone or face to face; locates resources and services. Follows up on resources and services referred. Acts as a liaison between the client and community resources.* Completes individual plans for client by identifying goals, barriers and obstacles. Sets mandatory goals to be completed by the end of the program. Updates plan as needed.* Completes needs assessments, reviews program requirements and answers questions about the programs available.* Completes assessments by obtaining information initially and periodically throughout the life of the program.* Completes monthly reports and compiles statistical data.* Greets and assists clients, and makes them feel comfortable and welcome; collects data and provides information within scope of authority.* Conducts interviews and obtains information that verifies family composition and other factors affecting eligibility; computes familys portion of rent; resolves issues and assures effective communications with clients.* Reviews client files, conducts home visits, verifies information, and maintains program documentation files as required.* Counsels clients concerning their rights and responsibilities under the Walker Settlement and the voucher programs; performs re-examinations as necessary.* Performs clerical and administrative duties, including data entry, preparing and processing various documents, and maintaining client database files.* Coordinates and schedules meetings and appointments as requested* Explains nature of DHA programs, procedures and services to clients; maintains absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, client records and DHA information.* Supports the relationship between DHA and the constituent population by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with clients, visitors, and DHA staff.* Enthusiastically promotes the President/CEOs priorities for the operations of DHA.* Performs other duties as assigned or required.Knowledge and Skills:* Knowledge of DHA organization, operations, policies and procedures.* Knowledge of principles and practices in case management, counseling and guidance.* Knowledge of community resources.* Knowledge of the principles of record keeping and records management.* Skill in understanding, interpreting and applying counseling standards and procedures, and applicable Federal rules and regulations.* Skill in conducting interviews and accessing eligibility.* Skill in accessing community resources and offering alternatives.* Skill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.* Skill in operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of business software.* Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.* Skill in interacting with people of different social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds.Physical Demands:Must be able to lift/carry up to 10 poundsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelors degree in Behavioral Sciences, Social Work or a related field, and two (2) years of case management or counseling experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to obtain Family Self-Sufficiency Case Management Certificate within one (1) year of employment.DEADLINE TO APPLY: Open Until FilledExplanation of Hiring ProcessThank you for your interest in job opportunities with the Dallas Housing Authority.
