Lead Waste Tracking Coordinator

Job Summary:

The primary role of the Lead Waste Receiving Coordinator (WRC) is to provide daily work assignments and direction for the group of (3) Drum and (2) Bulk Waste Receiving Coordinators. The Lead WRC assists the group in receiving inbound customer shipments in bulk and vans on a day to day basis as needed, and provides QA over site for all regulatory and site reports as required. The position also serves as the Site Waste Coordinator responsible for the management of all site waste disposal. This includes coordinating and scheduling transportation and 3rd party disposal for all PTA outbound shipments of Site Waste and associated regulatory and facility reporting requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provides day to day oversight, work assignments and direction to the PTA waste receiving group

  2. Provides QA and follow up on manifest discrepancies, various regulatory and departmental reports generated as a result of the receiving process..eg..RCRA Log, EPA Error Log, DocScan, Discrepancy Log, others as required

  3. Assists the receiving group in the receipt of bulk and drum loads, and other receiving tasks as needed

  4. Provides technical training to all bulk and drum receiving coordinators; includes cross training on various departmental jobs 

  5. Conducts daily toolbox meetings with departmental personnel and encourages employee participation

  6. Creates and maintains departmental SDP’s

  7. Manages PTA’s site waste outbound program. Includes working with PTA approvals and 3rd party disposal outlets to initiate & maintain new & existing 3rd party approvals and recertification for various site waste profiles

  8. Coordinates, schedules and manifests all  PTA site waste outbound transportation and disposal

  9. Coordinates and schedules all scrap metal off site to approved 3rd party recyclers

  10. Serves as the backup to PTA’s Residual Technician for the management of site waste residuals; ash, slag & filter cake. This includes various fleet management functions, manifesting and scheduling T&D for residuals, as well as various reporting and fleet tracking responsibilities

  11. Updates and maintains the Site Waste and Residual logs and updates accounting for their monthly accrual reporting

  12. Responsible for the PTA – 10-day Transfer Facility tracking and scheduling of transportation to move loads to and from the 10-day yard

  13. Responsible for PTA’s monthly STEER reporting

  14. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required

  • Associate’s degree or related discipline preferred  

  • Prior work experience of 3 to 5 years in the hazardous waste or related Industry preferred
