You also get to interact with the senior leadership team, play a role in defining our products, and ensure that we verify using real world use cases and the latest approaches in semiconductor validation.As a member on our Client system validation team, drive system validation engineering efforts for next generation AMD client roadmap products.

With a focus on Linux eco-system, lead the effort to develop validation test plans, strategy, and tests for post silicon validation as well as execute them on next-gen client products.

Drive engineering effort and successful partnership with internal partners in client system engineering to deliver great quality products with predictable cadence.

The mission of this role is to drive excellent validation coverage and minimize test escapes with a keen eye on automation for test execution.As a key engineer on our team, you will work on test plan and execution for system validation as well as analyze, configure, and propose improvement to current practices to achieve efficient validation methodology for Linux based system validation.

Join a group of engineers collaborating in various areas of system engineering and pre-silicon platforms like emulation and FPGA to review features and customer use cases for developing and executing end-to-end validation on AMD client products.THE PERSON:An experienced lead engineer with background in Linux based SoC/product validation.

The candidate must possess complex ASIC core & Post-Silicon/Validation experience and should demonstrate abilities to develop and execute end-to-end solutions to configure a Linux based next-gen SoC/system for system validation.

Knowledge of Linux eco-system internals like Linux OS Kernel, KMD, user mode drivers, system applications and use cases, benchmarking as well as power management and I/O sub-systems for Linux.

Ability to understand HW-SW co-validation and hands-on experience in UEFI/BIOS and system firmware.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Gain expertise on Linux based system validation to execute state of the art validation methodology and tests to provide best in class validation coverage.

Drive continuous improvements in Linux system validation based on the next generation products as well as other key internal stakeholder requirements.

While executing tests/test plans on AMD products, apply key learnings from previous projects.PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:Prefer prior experience with client PC or server system design and validation, CPU/SoC and platform bring-up; OS based testing tools and environments, hardware debugging using post-silicon tools as well Linux OS based debug, failure resolution and tracking.

Customer engagement experience with OEM/ODM for Client Products a plus.Prefer familiarity with: Computer Architecture concepts and silicon features; Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux Operating Systems, virtualization software (VMware, Xen, et al), and validation/certification processes; system component compatibility; stress testing; system power management testing, I/O and multimedia validation.Plus understanding and experience with: different frameworks and subsystems in Linux responsible to control power, performance, and thermal; benchmarking suites used to determine platform capabilities; validating 3rd party and standard vendor provided Linux-based devices on commercial/enterprise environments; working with platform firmware and services (UEFI/ACPI), Linux kernel API, and other interfaces used by Linux systems.Device interoperability, stress, and performance testing with peripheral devices8+ years of proven experienceADDITIONAL SKILLS (A PLUS):BASH including shell scripting.
