Loss Prevention Specialist – Region 4

Job DescriptionTime Type:Full timeRole Details:SUMMARYEvaluates, educates and provides instruction and training in store loss prevention as it relates to POS compliance, security, inventory accuracy, procedural compliance and management and the monitoring of financial data through the POS/Inventory computer system.

Reports findings to Director of Loss Prevention and Operations Support, Loss Prevention Manager, and Regional Manager as instructed to assure consistent operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Other duties may be assigned:Demonstrates proactive leadership and interpersonal skillsWorks effectively with and through store management and key store personnelMakes training and procedural recommendations and assists in assessing abilities, compliance and understanding of operational functionsEvaluates store signage, bin label integrity to insure good visual presentation as well as accuracy in cycle counts and cash register operationsWorks with and through management to develop and implement actions that protect company assets and assures consistency across all areas of the organizationReviews pertinent records and reports to determine compliance with control and audit systems that result in a safe, productive and profitable operation Communicates and educates management and key store personnel to follow procedures necessary for store operationsActively works to assure the safety and well being of employees, customers and suppliersWorks with and through management and store personnel to monitor margins, turns and shrinkageMonitors markdowns in POS/inventory system to allow management to track and minimize lossesAssists in training management and key personnel in the utilization of requisition modules in order to maintain appropriate stock levelsWorks as a liaison between Inventory Management, the Accounts Payable department and the store to resolve inventory issues, which may ariseSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilitiesQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree (B.

A.) from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, trade journals, technical procedures, or contractual documents.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and internal communications.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, store personnel, customers, and the general public.

In some markets, an equivalent working knowledge of a language other than English may be desirable.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and charts.

Must be able to perform and comprehend basic business and financial calculations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
