Material Handler Entry


This is a Full-time position in Midland, TX posted May 1, 2021.

Overview: Processes a variety of transactions related to warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, issuing parts to jobs, physically moving parts, and inventory counts.

Skills and Abilities: Ability to:
– Receive incoming materials, supplies and equipment
– Unload trucks, inspect material for damage or defects, uncrate and assemble materials if needed
– Prepare crates and other items to be shipped
– Process basic shipping / receiving / inventory transactions in computer system
– With training, operate material handling equipment including hand truck, pallet jack, forklift, delivery vehicle, etc.

– Deliver materials to appropriate departments and obtain required signatures
– Demonstrate skills required to obtain forklift operator certification
– Maintain good housekeeping in assigned area
– Comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and PPE policies and procedures
– Read, write and speak English

– General knowledge of inventory processes including storing, receiving, packaging, preserving, issuing, shipping, or transferring, and inventory control

Minimum Education and Certification:
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Valid Driver’s License and good driving record

Minimum Experience:
– Typically less than 2 years related experience

– No leadership responsibilities

– Constantly required to display good manual dexterity and to reach with hands and arms
– Frequently required to talk and hear
– Frequently required to sit while driving material handling equipment, and to stand and walk with good balance
– Regularly required to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds and to push and pull up to 110 pounds
– Occasionally required to stoop, twist, kneel, and squat
– Occasionally required to climb, stairs and slanted ladders and carry up to 40 pounds with one hand
– Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
