This is a Full-time position in Garland, TX posted July 22, 2023.

Job Summary:

Baylor Scott and White Surgicare Garland is a successful Ambulatory Surgical Center with 4 operating rooms and 1 treatment room. The Center averages 4,000 surgeries/procedures a year. We partner with one of the premier healthcare systems in the Metroplex, United Surgical Partners International and physicians. Position Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Mission Statement of Baylor Scott & White Surgicare Garland and carries out that Mission
  • Demonstrate accountability, creativity and innovation 
  • Ability to address the physiological, psychological, socio-cultural and spiritual needs/responses of the patient
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks and flexibility as job priorities change

  • Assumes responsibility for continuing education requirements

Required Skills:

Education and Training:

  • Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current Texas Nursing License
  • BLS, ACLS and PALS required

Required Experience:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in surgery
  • Experience in GI a plus
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient, demonstrating the ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics  
  • Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the surgical patient
  • Excellent teaching skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrate strong professional and ethical behavior
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
