If you are up for the challenge, you belong here.PenFed is hiring a Remote Correspondent Loan Purchasing Specialist at one of the following locations: San Antonio, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Charlotte, North Carolina, or Jacksonville, Florida.

The primary purpose of this job is to act as a liaison between PenFed and the Correspondent Lenders to ensure the timely and accurate purchase of loan files.*This position is remote, and can be located anywhere in the United States.*ResponsibilitiesReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

This is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of job duties and the position will perform other duties as assigned.Initiate and maintain contact with Correspondent Lenders and vendors throughout the processing period to ensure that all related parties are kept informed of loan status, conveying the appropriate level of urgency and professionalism to ensure that all expectations are exceeded.Follow prescribed processes and diligence requirements completing the loan purchase process.Monitor loan in process to determine any deviation from standard processing time and to take appropriate actions to ensure Correspondent Lenders receive timely service.Responsible for pipeline management and ensuring that all conditions are met.Identify any issues which may impact ability to meet previously established conditions in a timely manner.Perform final reviews of the completed application packages and prepares the file for approval of loan purchase, specifying any applicable conditions to the approval and/or those instances in which approval is outside specified approval limits.Ensure documentation meets secondary market requirements, if appropriate.Ensure compliance with all PenFed policies and procedures as well as all regulatory requirements.

Update system and completes required paperwork for compliance.Apply working knowledge of secondary market requirements during origination, processing and underwriting mortgage transactions to ensure loans are eligible for sale, if applicable.Responsible for due diligence follow up of post purchase conditions, as well as QC and Credit Risk review conditions after loan is purchased.QualificationsEquivalent combination of education and experience is considered.Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is required.Minimum of six (6) months of work experience in correspondent lending is preferred.Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in residential mortgage lending is preferredExperience Ellie Mae Encompass Loan Processing System, Mortgage Loan Documents preferred.Excellent analytical and math skills required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.Ability to handle multitask in a fast paced environment is required.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.*Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.*TravelAbility to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.Special Message Regarding COVID 19PenFed is continuing to hire and train exceptional individuals to help us serve our 2 million members both here and around the world.
