RN Vascular Access Specialist – Infusion

As we continue to grow, we look for people dedicated to service and quality.Job Objective:rovides professional nursing care to patients on the acute care and outpatient units during his/her assigned shift.

This care shall be rendered in a safe and effective manner that is consistent with KRMCs policies and procedures.

Responsibilities: 1.A demonstrated commitment to professionalism, civility, teamwork and customer service while undertaking all tasks and interactions with others.

2.Knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to the RNs specific job duties, patient care and safety.

The ability to comply with and to maintain regulatory compliance requirements as defined for the nursing care on the unit and according to hospital standards.3.Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards.

Maintains nursing standards of care, and executes appropriate physician orders.

While executing patient care, demonstrates knowledge of and maintains the patients right to diversity, privacy and confidentiality.

4.Must perform a comprehensive assessment of patient.

Provides assessment of implanted ports, CV lines (Groshongs Hickmans) PICC, peripheral lines and PICC line insertion or placement.

5.Rounds on all patients with known PICC lines, including scheduled and unscheduled dressing changes per protocol.6.Communicates all appropriate and critical changes in the patients condition, status and findings to the appropriate physician/provider and primary care nurse in a timely manner or as defined by policies and procedures and/or physician/provider orders.

7.Completes and demonstrates competency/currency in unit specific required yearly competencies and educational requirements as defined by the unit department manager and CNO.

8.Demonstrates competency/currency in PICC specific competencies within 90-days of employment.

9.Educates clinical staff and physicians as indicated on advanced infusion therapy.10.May need to travel outside of the KRMC campus to for PICC line placement occasionally; mileage will be reimbursed.

Qualifications: 1.Current Montana RN License.2.BSN degree preferred3.Minimum of two (2) years of previous Medical/Surgical or acute care vascular access experience required.4.Current Health Care Provider CPR certification.

Current PALS, ENPC, and ACLS preferred.5.Current Montana Drivers License.6.Previous vascular access experience preferred, National certification in AVA preferred; must be able to be independent with PICC line placement within three (3) months of start date.7.Chemotherapy knowledge and experience preferred.Kalispell is a dynamic community located within a thirty-minute drive of Flathead Lake, Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort, Glacier National Park, several National and State forests and parks, and the Bob Marshall Wilderness area.
