The Scrum Master plans, coordinates, documents, communicates, and oversees all activities related to requirements, development, and testing.

He/she actively works with the solution leaders and business stakeholders to create user stories and facilitates decisions made by the business stakeholders (based on business value and technical input) about what features and functionality to build and the order in which to build them.

The Scrum Master works with business stakeholders to ensure criteria for accepting features is developed and incorporated into overall plans, and that the delivery timing matches the business needs.

The Scrum Master works closely with the development team throughout development and testing to ensure progress is being made to reduce the backlog and deliver the functionality when promised.

Responsibilities: Uses strong business insight and software development knowledge to envision and represent the product at the release and sprint level.

Partners with business and solution leaders to understand the domain’s business strategies, product vision and direction, and provides input on when to start and end product development.

Works with the Delivery Team Leader, Solution Lead, and Tech Lead to structure sprints, leading the sprint planning meetings.

Utilizes information on team throughput (velocity) to help in prioritization and planning.

Monitors metrics and reports out to leadership as required on defects and velocity.

Groom Product Backlog: Creates and continuously prioritizes the product backlog along with business stakeholders.

Analyzes dependencies and raises requests for work to be done by other teams.

Collaborate with the development team: Participates in and leads daily scrum meetings.

Leads team through risk mitigation and dependencies on a daily and sprint basis.

Quality Management: Works with the team leads to remove road blocks to ensure tasks are being worked on and completed by the team according to sprint commitment.

Helps to identify risks and provide mitigation options as part of release and sprint planning.

Continuous Improvement and Coaching: Leads the sprint retrospectives to capture and implement improvements in subsequent sprints.

Participates in communities of practice and shares process improvements, successes, and best practices to improve ongoing quality across teams.

Solution Deployment: Ensures user documentation and train the trainer materials are prepared for rollout of new projects or systems to stakeholders, users, and support groups.

May assist others in facilitating end user training and system documentation.

Release Management: Plans the migrations and releases of the software, working with the development teams on when components will be completed and when migrations to various lifecycles will take place.

Ensures that there is enough time to migrate to all environments to reach the business expectations, and that appropriate communication has taken place.

When the software is part of a bigger release, works with other release managers to ensure proper integration of all software during the larger migrations.

Posting Qualifications: Formal Education & Certification Bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer systems design or computer science 8 years equivalent work experience with 5 year experience working on software development projects and teams Knowledge & Experience: Agile software methodology 7 year experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management.

3 year experience in working in the specific domain/service area Understanding of aligned market, industry, client service delivery, clients, system capabilities, Proven experience in leading requirements meetings and documenting requirements is a must.

This includes process analysis, creating business requirements documents, developing use cases, and partnering on user interface design.
