Senior Credit and Collection Analyst

Ascend Performance Materials Holdings Inc.

This is a Full-time position in Houston, TX posted August 2, 2021.

POSITION OVERVIEWThe primary responsibilities of the Senior Credit Analyst are to actively manage Credit/Collections & Reporting.

The Senior Credit Analyst will play a critical role in credit decisions through their analysis and partnership with Sales, Customer Service, Commercial Finance and Supply Chain Managers as well as partnering with the outside parties.

They will be expected to provide in-depth analysis, financial modeling, and drive improvement.The ideal candidate will recommend unique solutions to the credit team based upon requested and observed needs.

They will provide key information on historical trends, forecasts and related analysis at the micro and macro level in support of business decisions and be able to communicate complex concepts in a concise way.TARGETED OUTCOMESTimely delivery of Letter of Credits, New & Existing Customer Recommendation/approval, Collections, Dispute settlement, and ReportsIdentification of Process Improvement Opportunities in Cash Application, Reporting, and Credit & CollectionsKEY RESPONSIBILITIES Review & approve the documentary letter of credit and work closely with customer operations, sales, freight forwarders, and banks.Manage the credit review process of new and existing customers.Conducts annual review of assigned accounts, updates credit files and recommend credit terms.Perform analysis of customer receivable balances and proactively provide aging trends and targeted accounts for collection activities.Work with the Sales & Revenue team on billing disputes and provide insight into the cause for a reduction in disputes.Prepare AR and other Adhoc reports.Interacts and communicates effectively with customers, colleagues, sales personnel, and management regarding credit issues to ensure mutual understanding and positive outcomes.Performs other related tasks, special projects as assigned by the Corporate Credit Manager.Timely and accurate resolution of any unidentified cash receipts and discrepancies, working closely with the treasury teamMaintain documented procedures of the processes applicable to creditEnsure (or implement, as necessary) and maintain strong, effective internal control proceduresPrepare financial planning activities to include budgeting and forecastingDrive credit automation projects (using simple RPA) to modernize processes and proceduresSupport Credit Manager to provide Company Executives with analysis and supportAdhere to proper controls avoiding fraudulent banking instructions or payment requestsWorks closely with other functional areas of the organization including sales, commercial finance, and supply chain to accomplish goalsMaintain knowledge of markets including relevant credit practices, payment terms, and general economic trendsTake on special projects as assigned to ensure cross training within the Treasury/Finance/Credit organizationsSupport global mergers and acquisitions, and integration thereofREPORTS TOCredit ManagerEXPERIENCEUndergraduate degree in, Business, Finance or Accounting; MBA a plus5-7 years of experience in business, accounting, financial planning with data analysis including credit & collectionsProven skills with ERP (f.e.: SAP,Oracle) and Collections Software (f.e.: GetPaid, High Radius, Bectran)Basic knowledge, understanding, or interest of/in RPA (VBA, MS Power Platform, Python, C#…)History in building performance relationships and partnering with those outside of financeAbility to assimilate disparate information to develop detailed analysis and optionsSKILLSAction orientedProblem solvingDrive for resultsInfluencingWritten and verbal communicationSix Sigma, Lean or alternate operational excellence programs preferredSkills Summary:About Us:Ascend Performance Materials is the premium provider of high quality chemicals, fibers and plastics.
