Responsibilities Drees Homes is seeking candidates for a Starts & Permitting Assistant position for our Houston Division.
In this position you will be responsible for timely and accurate processing of construction related paperwork and information.

You will perform administrative tasks to ensure smooth flow of the permitting and construction starts processes.

We also will consider detail-oriented, multi-taskers with administrative experience who are willing to learn and excited to grow with one of the largest privately-owned homebuilders in the country.

Some responsibilities include:

Coordinate the permitting process by gathering information and act as the liaison between the company and various municipalities
Submit check requests to Corporate Accounting, code sub/supplier invoices and track account balances with municipalities Review plot plans and house plans for accuracy Complete and submit permit applications and maintain permit log Maintain files relating to the permitting process Obtain necessary approvals for the start of a home Create and provide complete start packages to the Builders Upload job-related documents to Drees systems and update data in various software programs Facilitate and track construction starts and conduct weekly Starts Meetings Maintain status report; Preparation and distribution of various reports
Some Requirements include:

Previous administrative experience
Homebuilding industry experience helpful Permitting and starts experience would be ideal Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office including Word and Excel Working knowledge of architectural plans and/or the permitting process a plus Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task with accuracy Professional communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse group of people High school diploma, college degree a plus
