Position Overview

The Quality Engineer II will be responsible for the following: establishing and maintaining procedures for the evaluation and selection of suppliers; performing supplier performance reviews and taking action for poor performance; evaluating and investigating incoming inspection data to correct quality and delivery issues; and conducting supplier audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the supplier development program. Develop supplier scorecards and plans for poor performing suppliers to mitigate risk to the company.
  • Perform supplier audits and facilitate self-surveys.
  • Develop incoming material sampling plans based on risk.
  • Investigate supplier quality and delivery issues to determine opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate changes to supplier status and ensure all required activities are complete.
  • Represent Supplier Quality in New Product Development projects.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and the appropriate corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
  • Assist Manufacturing Departments in the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers and materials following a defined new product development process.
  • Travel to supplier locations to facilitate the resolution of quality problems.
  • Act as Quality liaison for supply chain to disposition all Non-Conformances related to suppliers.
  • Complete trending and analysis of supplier defects, recurring problems, and supplier corrective actions.
  • Review and communicate supplier requests for engineering changes or new products.
  • Ensure Quality compliance throughout affected areas.
  • Assist in establishing and ensuring completion of department and corporate goals.

Other responsibilities as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years in engineering, supply chain management, or Logistics
  • Previous experience in a regulated industry is preferred
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Good collaborative skills and ability to work with both suppliers and internal staff
  • Demonstrates reliability and leaderships skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
