Technical Acctg Specialist III

Job Summary

This position will be responsible for creating and updating SQL scripts to generate financial reporting from Oracle Server, analyzing reporting requirements, developing ad-hoc financial reports for business, and supporting MAR controls. Analyzing current business operation flows to recommend enhancements and create and develop automated solutions streamlining the processes using tools such as Alteryx, Classic Monarch Models, Data Prep Studio, and PowerBI. This position will also be responsible for setting up complex rules and configuration changes for the data that flows thru various financial systems, Accounting Hub, and other downstream applications. Provide operational support for Finance Applications mainly FSS, FPDB, UPDB, Accounting Hub, Cash Application Hub, and Blue Gateway; serve as a liaison between business teams and tech support throughout the lifecycle of operational issues.


1.Develop clear and applicable strategies to continuously improve assigned processes.
2.Document comprehensive, concise, and accurate test plans in the claims adjudication test environment.
3.Enter data in a test environment, and recognize and evaluate results.
4.Manage system defects and other opportunities via the enterprise process (e.g. clearquest).
5.Comprehend the system interactions of the department (e.g. FSS, Bluechip, CPS).
6.Identify operational and testing discrepancies and recommend resolutions.
7.Document negative/positive test requirements, and recognize/evaluate results.
8.Execute acceptance and regression testing.
9.Manage workload to ensure project timelines are met.
10.Perform the daily system balancing for the department.
11.Support the representation of Financial Operations on various enterprise projects and cross-divisional teams.
12.Preparing key account reconciliations.
13.Prepare various journal vouchers.
14.Generate ad-hoc reports used in the daily reconciliation process.
15.Generate monthly recap information necessary to support monthly statistical reporting.
16.Develop the technical skills of the department. Including intermediate Microsoft Office skills, PeopleSoft skills, writing Ad Hoc queries, Monarch.
17.Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
18.Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
19.Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
20.Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

*Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance AND 2 years experience in accounting OR 4 years experience in accounting
*2 Years experience in testing and researching system issues
*Knowledge of health care products and networks
*Analytical skills and research techniques
*Technical writing skills
*Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
*Knowledge in developing and implementing process improvements
*Organizational skills to include prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
*Analytical skills to include troubleshooting and problem solving
*PC proficiency to include Access, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

*PC proficiency to include PeopleSoft Financials
*Demonstrated project experience;
*Database development experience (including query development);
*Web applications including MS FrontPage;
*Knowledge of MLR categorization.
