Aggregate and Mining Equipment Sales Rep

This is a Full-time position in Copperas Cove, TX posted August 26, 2021.

ROMCO EQUIPMENT COMPANY has supported the biggest names in the Texas construction and mining industries by filling their heavy equipment needs since 1961.

ROMCO is currently seeking an experienced and driven Mining Equipment Sales Rep to join our team.

Experience in crushing, screening, washing, classifying, water recovery equipment and blasthole drills preferred.

This individual will be tasked with identifying and developing new business opportunities in the North Texas and Oklahoma area.

The individual can live anywhere in the North or Northwest part of Texas.

Managing and increasing sales and market share with customers in the Texas and Oklahoma territory.

Generate and build strong and lasting business relationships with prospective and existing customers.

Resolves basic customer product and technical problems.

Forecast sales and communicate with operations to ensure availability of inventory.

Gathers, identifies, and understands competitive landscape.

Follow, track, and understand national and local economic trends and developments that impact the local market.

Be involved in trade associations, area chambers both state and local.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Familiar with MSHA/OSHA safety standards and regulations and proper use of PPE.

Ability to troubleshoot problems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills, excellent time management skills and ability to work unsupervised.

Possess effective customer service skills.

Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and integrity.

Display excellent judgement at all time.

Basic computer and technology skills to include using a CRM and report writing.

Good communication and follow up skills to communicate progress of repairs with Manager as required.

High School Diploma or equivalent Three to five years of related experience Experience in crushing, screening, washing, classifying, water recovery equipment and blasthole drills preferred.

Experience in interpreting engineered blueprints preferred.

Proficient in MS Office Suite (MS Word and Excel) and other software packages relevant to the position.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be alert and is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds long distances (more than 20 feet).

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

This position requires the use and operation of a vehicle.

This job operates in a field and office environment.

Job hours could be unpredictable which includes long hours day and evenings.

Frequent travel throughout the state of Texas, Oklahoma, and overnight stays are required.

This role routinely uses computers, phones, and other mobile devices.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

This position routinely requires use of personal or company vehicles on company business.

Salesman will be responsible for personal vehicle insurance meeting company requirements.

Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license, and maintain an acceptable driving record.

Employees in this position will be subject to random Motor Vehicle Record and alcohol and drug testing as a condition of continued employment.
