Head of Global Sales

This is a Contract position in Austin, TX posted September 7, 2021.

Position: Head of Global Sales for Infostellar Title: Director or Vice President level position, depending upon experience Location : Based in the United States; Preferred US locations: Washington DC, Colorado, Silicon Valley.

Other locations will be considered for the right candidate.

General Infostellar connects satellite operators to their spacecraft and constellations through a global network of ground stations.

The number of launches and satellites on-orbit is increasing exponentially.

There is a need to make more satellite ground stations available quickly and easily, rather than the traditional methods of developing interfaces to each individual ground station and expending significant resources to test, validate, operate, and maintain the system.

Our StellarStation platform revolutionises the ground-services segment of the space industry by enabling satellite operators to access a diverse and ever-increasing network of antenna sites through a single cloud based API interface.

This allows operators to add ground stations to support their missions in a simple and predictable and scalable manner.

Our goal is to provide an outstanding customer experience when integrating and using our services.

The company is in the process of completing its Series B financing round with plans to scale the business globally.

To accomplish rapid global expansion the company has opened a new position, Head of Global Sales.

We are seeking the right candidate to build and grow our global sales team and revenues in preparation for our next financing event, which is expected in the 2024-2025 timeframe.

This is a senior role, with an expectation of hiring at the Senior Director or Vice President-level, depending upon past experience, skills and accomplishments.

This position is a member of the company management with reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer, and working with a Global Business Development Leadership team that includes the company CEO and Director of Gov’t and Commercial Affairs.

Initially, The position will directly lead and manage a small team of Sales and BD team members (3) with an expectation that the team will grow globally to 10 to 12 members in an 18 to 24 month timeframe.

Team members currently reside in Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States.

This position is ideally suited for a person who is fully-engaged in the space industry and has experience with global sales of services that are hosted on cloud-based platforms.

The candidate should also have at least 7 years of experience in leading a multi-national team of sales and business development professionals around the world.

As the global sales leader, the company expects that the Head of Global Sales will grow the team quickly and will lead by example in managing a client-base that produces increasing business opportunities.

It is also expected that the Head of Global Sales will actively pursue and close business opportunities as well as lead the Global Sales team.

Responsibilities Own the company’s existing processes and activities related to sales pipeline development, sales processes to ensure effective sales efforts, sales strategies in each of the company’s active sales regions, and revenue forecasting and generation.

As a member of the company’s senior management, work with other senior managers and the C-Suite to foster a team culture that is consistent with the company direction and values.

Foster an environment and culture of communications between the various functions; Sales team, Product Development and Delivery teams, C-Suite and other Director, VP level team members Lead a global sales team of initially 3 sales and BD professionals located in Japan Lead and grow the company’s sales globally, by attracting top sales talent and building a healthy, high functioning global sales team Work closely with the CSO and global business leadership on company strategy, partnership development, ecosystem development, business planning and plan execution.

Ultimately, the success of this position will be determined by the above responsibilities with heavy emphasis on closing new contracts with Satellite Operators that drive the business toward our aggressive revenues and growth targets.

Minimum Qualifications BS or MS degree in Aerospace, Business Administration or equivalent practical space industry experience At least 7-years of hands-on global sales management experience including the management of sales processes and tools to equip a global team At least 10-years of hands-on sales experience and success in the space industry Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills capable of working with local and remote team-members and clients Proven track record of delivering to sales targets and closing new business Preferred Qualifications Experience selling space services to commercial space clients Working with satellite operators to understand their needs, shape the business opportunity towards Infostellar services, and produce a fully-executed sales contract Personal experience in closing multi-year business opportunities of greater than $5M USD Business management, including supporting other areas including the development of budgets for staffing levels, ongoing operational expenses, and capital investments.

Leading and managing a globally distributed team of sales professionals English is the official language of Infostellar.

Japanese or other language skills would be a plus.
