Outside Sales Representative


This is a Full-time position in San Antonio, TX posted July 10, 2021.

General Description:This position is responsible for commercial truck equipment sales to dealers and end customers in a designated territory.

Position Expectation Statements:The successful candidate will be the liaison between the customer and the company.

Since a thriving business is based on relationships, the outside sales representative’s biggest responsibility is to foster strong positive relationships with all of our customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Meet new order booking and sales goals by developing and maintaining a customer base and continuously prospecting for new customers.

Adhere to company policies and safety guidelines in performance of duties.Contact existing and prospective customers for new businessBe responsive to all customer inquiries and requests for information or quotationsUtilize the company’s Customer Resource Management System (CRM) to manage customer prospecting activity and to communicate orders status to customers.

Complete brief summary of each customer call/Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentationsFollow up with key decision makersTimely follow up of all digital leads within 24 hours Mine and identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Knapheide’s Products, services, and pricing structure.Meet or exceed sales and booking goalsDetermine customer needs and propose appropriate equipment solutions.Quote Customers as required using inside sales support or processing quote by outside salesperson as necessaryConform to all Knapheide Truck Equipment policies, processes and proceduresBe proficient with utilizing company quoting softwareBe proficient with utilizing company portal applicationsShould be capable of teaching customers to navigate website Be knowledgeable of all KTEC and Manufacturing PromotionsManage Pool Chassis Holds (when applicable)Acquire Dealer Request (when applicable)Provide dealer with needed informationRegularly meet with Sales Management to review sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.Maintain assigned company vehicleMaintain appropriate literature to provide customer when calling on themMaintain appropriate dress to insure a professional appearance whenever representing the company.Complete and process expense reports regularly and consistent with expense guidelinesPreferred Training and Experience:Candidates for this position must be self-motivated and are driven to meet sales and booking goalsCandidates should have a successful track record in outside salesA proven track record in commercial truck equipment sales or fleet truck or equipment sales is a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customersExcellent computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesPerson must be skilled at conflict managementThis position requires some overnight travelPhysical Demands:
– Normal standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary to perform job duties.Lifting/moving up to 50 poundsMust maintain a clean and professional appearance at all times Position requires some overnight travelEducation/Certification Requirements Minimum four year college degree or equivalent job-related experience Valid Driver’s License.
