Account Manager – Refractory and Ceramics Segment

This is a Contract position in Dallas, TX posted August 1, 2021.

Washington Mills is hiring an Account Manager to market and sell mineral products and re-sale products to the refractory and ceramic industries primarily in North America.

This exciting opportunity will be responsible for a group of current customers as well as the opportunity to close new business.

The successful hire will work closely with our plants in New York and Canada.

The position will provide a dynamic mix of both account management (50% of time) and new business development (50% of time).

The customer relationships formed will be in the refractory and ceramic markets so interest and experience in this sector is desirable.

You will be joining a company that has a high degree of integrity, is committed to excellence in servicing its customers, and is trusted and respected in the industry.

The job involves roughly 50% travel (air and car) throughout the U.S with most of the travel in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West.

A central location for this position could be in PA, Ohio from a home office, or based out of our NY or Canadian facilities.

Sales Responsibilities § Call on customers through a mix of face-to-face sales calls, video calls, and telephone calls § Document all visits and critical communications in the CRM system per Washington Mills’ policies § Service the customers by providing product and application expertise in their market § Perform competitive market studies § Provide technical solution selling experience § Inform customers on new products and new applications of existing products § Develop and nurture account relationships to ensure satisfaction and develop further sales growth § Build confidence, respect and carry forth the goodwill of the Company § Identify and obtain new customers through warm and cold calling, networking, researching, and trade shows § Assist in the development of market strategies as they relate to the refractory and ceramics industries § Investigate and make recommendations on the need for product improvement, new products, and/or new product applications and pricing § Continuous monitoring of sales

– to ensure satisfaction that products are performing satisfactorily and that any questions or complaints are answered promptly and in conformity with established company practices § Study and forecast customers’ ordering patterns, for the purpose of communicating ordering trends to the manufacturing plant to facilitate adjustments to plant production schedules for purposes of maintaining adequate inventory levels to meet customer demands.

§ Work with Washington Mills’ Material Management Department with forecasting of re-sale products to assure adequate supply § Identify opportunities to sell new or re-sale products § Work internally and with global suppliers to introduce new products to the market § Involved in price negotiations § Manage sales pipeline of prospects and opportunities § Perform to an established set of sales goals and objectives § Responsible for admin functions: pricing, quoting, sales reports, CRM, expenses, market research, etc.
