Assistant Vice President, Program & Project Management

Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU)

This is a Full-time position in San Antonio, TX posted August 24, 2021.

What You Will Do:

Oversees the Delivery teams in organizing, coordinating, and delivery of Credit Union tactics across multiple projects and business areas.

Defines and implements the Enterprise Technologies (ET) Delivery strategy, methodologies, and vision towards recognized industry standards.

Leads the identification and implementation of project management processes, methods, tools, guidelines and standards in order to establish a stable framework that supports all project teams and stakeholders to improve the probability of successful project delivery.

Functions as both diplomat and negotiator by proactively identifying and objectively facilitating resolution of cross-team dependencies and issues.

Oversees a team of Project Managers, Program Managers, and Project Portfolio Management system development and support personnel providing guidance, mentoring, and work flow control.

Oversees and directs teams in Project methodologies and strategies.

Ensures Delivery related activities at both the program and at the project level are appropriately planned, documented, and executed.

Establishes firm guidance for the actions to be undertaken when a project is deemed to be in trouble, end enforces key decision points that require selecting one of four available actions: re-scope, restructure, reschedule, or cancel.

Assess project sizes, risk, and complexity through coordination of high-level scope and team impact analysis activities.

Tracks and monitors projects and ensure that they are delivered on time and on budget.

Implements Resource management methods and support systems that facilitate the optimization of team resource allocations across tactics, ops/compliance, and support activities.

Directs the design, developments, and administration of systems and processes that support the Enterprise Technologies project accounting and finance function.

Directs the design and development of project finance projections and monitoring reports that provide time-sensitive insights into current and estimated project expenditures and project budget variances.

Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.

What We Require:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent field or study, or comparable work experience.

Minimum of ten (10) years in a financial institution technical environment or comparable experience and at least seven (7) years of supervisory experience.

Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to drive process with indirect authority.

Demonstrated understanding of structured application development methodology and principals, understanding of structured environments using distinct development, test, and production environments.

Experience in Project Management, Program Management, and extensive knowledge in Project/Program methodologies and best practices.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to read and comprehend technical material and apply the principles learned.

Must be logical and detail oriented.

Experience in participating / managing multiple projects and ability to work with limited supervision.

Ability to work in a team environment, meet deadlines and take on a high level of responsibility and accountability.
