Bar Manager – NEW High End Modern Mexican-Pre-Hispanic Concept

This is a Contract position in Grand Prairie, TX posted March 20, 2022.

Our West Michigan restaurant group is looking for a self-motivated individual to manage and lead our bar in a fine dining restaurant in Grand Rapids.

Full bar responsibilities.

Strive to provide timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for our guests.

Duties & Responsibilities: Manage and grow beverage sales for both the indoor and outdoor bar areas at the restaurant.

Ensure guest satisfaction and growth curation of beverage menu and selection, hospitality professionalism, knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and food.

Reoccurring staff training new product, current product, beer, wine, liquor, proper knife skills, product rotation, standard liquor and wine pours, draft pouring, etc.

Partner with vendors to provide additional staff training to help increase staff beverage knowledge.

Ordering Beer, Wine, and Liquor based on par levels, season, upcoming events, guest demand, and budget.

Perform a weekly and period end inventory for all bar areas.

Shift management duties to include: staff organization, receiving and printing dinner features, closing out server cash outs, and closing the restaurant Daily bar prep/ensuring product quality fruit, house made syrups, house made bloody mix, and house made sour mix.

Manage, promote, and grow membership in monthly liquor club.

Create, coordinate, and promote special events, Beer, Wine, Whiskey dinners, in coordination with the Director of Business Development.

Create, write, cost, and execute beverage menu in collaboration with the GM and owner.

Take and prepare beverage orders from guests and servers.

Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with the Restaurant’s standard drink recipes.

Learns the names of, and personally recognize our regular guests.

Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the POS system.

Accept guest payment, process credit card charges, and make change.

Maintains bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages.

Wash and sterilize glassware Clear and reset tables in bar area when a server is not assigned.

Present drink menus, make recommendations and answer questions regarding beverages.

Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.

Receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar and in the bar area.

Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to restaurant manager.

Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

All other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications: Minimum of two years experience in a bar leadership and management role Possess a working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.

Possess advanced math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a cash register.

Ability to use Microsoft Excel to create workbooks and create formulas.

Experience working with Aloha POS preferred.

Must be able to work nights and weekends.

Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.

Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 40 pounds.
