We’re seeking a flexible self-starter with an investigative nature to fill an independent contributor role on our team.  In this role you would enjoy tremendous opportunity for growth, as well as the chance to be a recognized subject-matter-expert on healthcare provider data.   You would also gain exposure to all areas of the company as you focus on one or more of the following types of responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Directly manage various program initiatives for the Provider Elastic Search application in the capability manager role
  • Provide business expertise into provider search and directory initiatives with focus on various source of truth applications such as NDB, Provider Operational Decision Management, COSMOS, NICE, Facets and other systems, including use of this data by claim, clinical and customer care systems.  This may include provider demographic data, contracts or pricing, capitation, provider selection or other types of provider data as it relates to search and directory initiatives
  • Illustrate demographic and contract configurations for provider data to enable provider search and directory initiatives and the distribution of this data to both internal and external facing applications
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Provider Identity Management (EPIM) business and technical partners to determine business rules for matching physician and organizational records in UHC source of truth systems to the strategic EPIM product
  • Manage the directory modernization roadmap
  • Serve as the voice of the customer in projects that impact Provider Elastic Search (PES) in collaboration with technical delivery teams, representing/reinforcing the customer’s perspective throughout the product realization cycle
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including architects, business analysts, Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, developers, testers and others to develop and execute against the product roadmap
  • Product owner responsibilities inclusive of maintenance and ownership of the product backlog, documentation of features, user stories, collaboration with business partners, leadership of scrum team, completion of Rally approvals throughout the Agile development process
  • Works with minimal guidance and independence to prioritize work
  • Continuously and transparently communicate with business and technical stakeholders on the product backlog and status and timelines of development efforts
  • Make presentations to all levels of management
  • Drive a diverse set of special projects to completion, identifying and engaging staff from impacted departments to create and implement solutions to issues   
  • Conducting ongoing evaluations and assessments to ensure team effectiveness and customer satisfaction, recommending / implementing modifications as necessary

Required Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years of experience with healthcare provider data and its business usage
  • 2 + years of experience in successfully managing one or more major projects, which integrates multiple business areas or systems
  • 2+ years of experience in presenting information in large project group meetings 
  • 1+ years of Agile experience
  • NDB experience
  • Experience with Visio 
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated leadership to team and peers
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in an environment of rapid change
  • Demonstrated ability to direct project outcome based on long term business objectives
  • Demonstrated willingness to handle a variety of different types of project assignments vs. a fixed role/function
  • Conceptual thinking capability
  • Solid business partner focus
  • Detail-oriented and exceptional analytic skills
  • Ability to mentor and educate staff

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of operational tools development, policy and procedure or training documentation experience 
  • 2+ years of program lead experience
  • Facets, COSMOS, NICE experience
  • Claim or customer service or claim resolution experience 
  • Microsoft Project
  • Solid organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Self-starter; team player; quality minded; focused; committed; work independently
  • Able to stay committed to long-term project goals

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
