*Description/Job Summary* The Consultant supports the Managing Director, Directors, Associate Directors, and Senior Consultants in ensuring the timely and effective delivery of healthcare consulting services in areas such as Medicaid policy, regulations, benefits, provider reimbursement, long-term services and supports (LTSS), and managed care.

It is also the entry level role for developing expertise and specialist skills in these healthcare consulting areas.

This role delivers selected services to States, private companies and various associations or unions under the supervision and direction of senior-level staff.

* Responsibilities/Duties* *//* /General Responsibilities and Expectations/ * Consultants are expected to account for hours on a monthly basis.

They will be provided with targets in each of the Client Servicing areas they support.

Any non-targeted hours shall be used for administration, sales and marketing activities, and paid-time-off in consultation with his/her supervisor.

Consultants are expected to review periodic activity reports and work with his/her supervisor to develop strategies to ensure expectations for targets are met.

* Sellers Dorsey consultants are expected to travel as needed to meet the needs of client servicing, marketing, and business development.

Consultants understand that work may require periodic availability on weekends and nights.

* Keep current on changing federal regulatory environment, learn state specific regulations to support assigned projects, stay current on industry trends, ability to apply information in various engagements /Consulting Services/ * Depending upon specific areas of expertise, assume significant levels of responsibility on a diverse range of projects and project tasks across Practice areas; develop consulting expertise that can be replicated in future projects * Conduct research and literature reviews using appropriate industry publications and databases; analyze findings that confirm the application of various healthcare policies, programs and technology * Assist with the design and/or implementation of evaluations and assessments (e.g., survey development, conducting stakeholder interviews, focus groups or site visits) * Assist with projects requiring quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis; collect, analyze, and summarize the data and findings into concise, usable reports * Produce or assist in the production of client deliverables * Depending on client engagement, assist with meeting, conference, panel, hearing, etc.

planning and coordination * Prepare for and participate in both internal team and external client meetings, as requested, including preparing meeting agendas, taking meeting notes, and tracking and coordinating action items * Work with Managing Directors and Senior Consultants concurrently and manage time effectively * Achieve personal performance goals across multiple projects and clients /Business Development/ * Actively seek to identify new business opportunities for the Firm within assigned clients to help maximize long term benefits and relationship between the client and Sellers Dorsey * In coordination with the marketing team, produce and review content for selected internal and external marketing tools, such as Firm newsletters, conference presentations, website content, and marketing webinars, to highlight the Firm’s capabilities, subject matter expertise and successes *Required Qualifications* /Education and Work Experience/ * Bachelor’sdegree and 3-7 years in a public healthcare policy administration role and/or in the healthcare consulting industry; advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public Health, Health Administration, business, economics or MBA preferred (or additional relevant experience in lieu of such advanced degree) /or/ 2-3 years of progressively responsible work experience in health or human services policy research, consulting and/or in a service delivery environment * Experience with Medicaid preferred /Skills/ * Excellent oral and written communication skills including relaying complex technical terms in an easy to understand manner * Ability to interact professionally with clients and other outside audiences * Experience organizing and coordinating the work of others * Professional writing experience highly desirable * Previous project/task management experience strongly desired; attention to detail, a must * The ability to work independently and in teams * Experience delivering services on several projects simultaneously * Time management skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required *Details* *Core Behaviors and Competencies:* * Build positive relationships within and outside the Firm, always selling the Firm and its capabilities * Treat clients, strategic partners and fellow employees with respect and professionalism in all interactions * Take ownership for one’s professional development by increasing knowledge, skills and abilities in areas that are critical to the Firm’s success * Collaborate and share knowledge with other Firm staff * Demonstrate formal and ad hoc team leadership in projects, issues or organizations that are critical to achieving the Firm’s strategic goals * Be self-motivated, and be an advocate for one’s abilities and talents, both internally and externally *Key Performance Metrics/Expectations*: * Individual performance goals * Successful completion of deliverables, tasks, projects * Professional development * Lead development
