Data Center Facilities Director

Few companies can offer information services on an equivalent scale The Data Center Facilities Director will have global responsibility for the day to day and strategic direction of all Experian owned and leased data centers and colos globally.

The individual will set and execute strategy for all these data center assets used by Experian with a focus on service, availability, cost control, cloud adjacency, and regulatory compliance, and carbon neutral initiatives.

The current makeup of that landscape is 4 owned enterprise class data centers, 3 leased enterprise class data centers, and 40 colos.

Additionally, Experian uses cloud services from all major providers.

Major Job Functions * Develops, plans, directs and controls strategic short and long term financial and operational goals and objectives for a broad functional area.

Manages goals and objectives through subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff.

* Provides 24X7 operational direction for large company owned and operated data centers including all MEP, repairs, and maintenance * Develops and keeps current data center strategy to include colo use, cloud adjacency, real estate use, carbon footprint and availability * Provides leadership, coaching and mentoring to a group of subordinate managers, supervisors, and staff.

* Develops policies and procedures that affect departmental operations and may affect cross-organizational functions.

* Oversees real estate analysis, selection, lease, and acquisition to provide facilities for company operations across multiple locations.

* Assists in SLA selectin and management of colo facilities * Directs the design, construction, and remodeling of company data center facilities.

Oversees the administration of outside contracts for space planning, architectural, engineering and construction services.

* Directs data center facilities maintenance, security, and utilities management programs.

* Coordinates the selection and maintenance of vendors providing all aspects of data center facilities support, including security, MEP, house maintenance, grounds keeping, etc.

* Participates with other senior managers/directors/ executives globally to establish cross-organizational strategic plans and objectives.

* Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives.

* Ensure budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.

* 8-10 years functional experience.

* 5-7 years managerial experience * Advanced knowledge of data center facilities acquisition, construction, operations, and maintenance * Advanced knowledge of security and energy management systems.

* Advanced knowledge of global data center strategy and operations including owned, leased, and collocated facilities * Some knowledge of public cloud data center operations * Advanced knowledge of carbon footprints and management of same * Advanced oral and written communications skills.

* Advanced leadership skills.

* Advanced project management and organizational skills.

* Advanced negotiation skills.
