Director, Corporate Reliability

Basic Function

HollyFrontier Corporation is seeking a Director, Corporate Reliability to be based at our headquarters in Dallas, TX.  This role is responsible for overseeing and directing refining integrity in the implementation of reliability and integrity business processes across all refinery sites in order to improve process safety and reliability. 

Job Duties

• Oversees and directs all company projects to ensure their completion according to plans, specifications, schedules, budgets and contractual commitments
• Develops and implements policy strategies as necessary to achieve company policy objectives 
• Oversees the active management of all deliverables to ensure critical path activities are achieved and develops mitigation strategies to minimize risk to projects and associated release projects are slated for
• Ensures sound engineering procedures and effective use of facilities specializing in operational risk involved with the organization’s internal processes, systems, and people while providing technical guidance
• Ensures all engineering activities are in accordance with organizational standards
• Ensures all programs are integrated and coordinated with all other elements of the PSM function
• Reviews and participates in information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT) decisions to support defined business processes
• Represents the company and establishes strong professional relationships with key decision makers in matters associated with land development, planning commissions, city and county governing bodies, and miscellaneous associations
• Reviews reliability results, compares them to established objectives, and takes steps to ensure appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results
• Plans and directs unusual operational changes requiring internal procedures and policies to be reviewed and modified
• Represents SVP, Refining Operations at meetings as needed and requested
• Participates in overall corporate strategy formulation with Senior Management team

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superior, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years industry and specialty related experience with five years in senior management.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a Scientific discipline, Engineering, Business, or a related field, is required

Required Skills

Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications; strong negotiating and influencing skills, Strong data based decision maker, ability to build teams and drive change. Advanced project management skills including knowledge of logistics operations used by the company. Ability to stay abreast of new technology developments and processes. Advanced familiarity with mechanical standards and operating practices at company. Analytically strong with attention to details. In depth knowledge of procurement, inventory control and cost containment; knowledge of manufacturing principles, practices and procedures. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Supervises Senior Manager, Fixed Equipment & Mechanical Integrity and senior engineers.

Work Conditions

Office based with 30% travel by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment, out-of-doors environment, and driver based environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels tanks, rotating equipment, loud noises, and vibrations. Subject to all temperatures, weather and varying road conditions.
