Director Datacenter Ecosystems
The Person
We are seeking a technical leader to lead a team driving the adoption of AMD technologies for datacenter and cloud native and hybrid cloud solutions.

The technical leader will focus on driving adoption of EPYC infrastructure to build services around hybrid cloud, virtual cloud and physical server including hypervisor, and container.
The Role
In this role you will play an integral part in the Datacenter Ecosystems & Application Engineering team, working closely with customers, sales and product marketing to influence ecosystem partners (operating systems, containers, databases, analytics) to enable and optimize advanced AMD technology differentiators through enablement tooling, development libraries, optimized compilers, workload specific artifacts and benchmarks and opensource documents libraries enabling application developers across Enterprise, B2B (COTs package) and B2C (next generation Cloud Native) to define, select and leverage AMD’s technology across Hybrid Cloud solutions
Responsibilities Build out a deep understanding of processor architecture partner, customer, and developers to select, optimize and leverage EPYC capability across various workload demands and ecosystem choices Develop ‘workload types’ / workload profiles and benchmarks that enable Enterprise Software developers to select the best EPYC solution for their needs Gather workload profile data Assess, characterize, and optimize performance profiles Build out a ‘recommendations’ and ‘benchmarks’ for standard workload profiles Index AMD Inside capabilities on both performance and price performance Define open reference libraries and guides for Enterprise developers on how to be leverage EPYC capabilities in leading software architecture, various compilers, and different libraries Assess and create best practices for application migration between various platforms: On-perm to cloud, Intel to AMD, old to new /OS/App Enablement tooling, capability assessments, Pre & Post migration platform performance and capability validation Identify leading opensource and legacy platforms that a focused team of engineers can build out specific libraries, compilers and open-source data management platform optimization that will leverage AMD EPYC architecture Opensource: Apache Hadoop, Cassandra, Mongo DB, etc.

Commercial: SAP, Oracle, SQL Server etc.

Enable application performance optimizations (for selected high-profile customers) Build a relationship with ‘high profile’ customer support teams to gather use and performance data Focus on high profile customers workload demands Deep dive into performance and price/performance optimization across Hybrid service options Support Product Management, Sales and Marketing needs as they drive Enterprise Application Developer adoption through ‘influence selling’ across Hybrid Cloud solutions Develop Enterprise Application Developer reference material Develop regular updates on AMD technology, guides and benchmarks Translate it into Application Developer language of ‘workloads, workload profiles’ etc.
