This is a Contract position in Cason, TX posted August 18, 2021.

The Director, Human Resources plans, develops, directs and implements specific HR strategies that align with business objectives, leads all aspects of the HR function for an assigned Meredith business group, and serves as an HR leader for all employees and managers.

This is a management role responsible for developing and leading an HR Coordinator.

Essential Job Functions Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results 50%
– Serves as the HR leader and subject matter expert for the business group (employees and leaders) in all facets of HR including but not limited to: diversity, equity and inclusion goals, strategic planning, employee engagement, performance management, legal compliance, talent acquisition, compensation planning, retention, benefit administration, HR success metrics and analytics, training development and delivery, problem prevention and root cause analysis, culture, on-boarding, and organizational design.

Work with leaders to translate corporate initiatives to their teams and meet corporate goals.

20%
– Directly manages an HR Coordinator to ensure optimal performance and sustainable results that directly impact the business.

20%
– Provides counsel and direction and/or directly handles employee relations cases in concert with the Corporate HR and/or legal department as necessary.

Works with the managers and HR Partners to help guide them through challenging situations.

5%
– Performs “advocate” role in support of client group.

Makes recommendations for changes to Corporate level policies, practices and/or procedures.

– Develops and maintains effective working relationships with business group leadership, employees, outside legal counsel, HR leadership team peers, and Corporate Management.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Master’s degree in HR or MBA a plus.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of HR Generalist experience required.

Past experience leading HR in a fast paced, creative and dynamic, client driven work environment is highly preferred.

Management experience a plus.

Past experience working in a media business experiencing tremendous growth is highly preferred as well.

Solid experience reviewing and responding to claims under various state and federal employment laws in the areas of EEO, FMLA, ADA and others.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to lead teams and successfully influence sustainable change Track record of creating an inclusive and approachable work environment for all employees Excellent consulting skills Must be a strong negotiator who can constructively position a positive POV Must have a strong Business Acumen Ability to source and attract talent Excellent project management skills and both a high, and tactical level Ability to delegate effectively and responsibly Strong verbal and written communication skills High degree of ingenuity and creativity, with a past track record of developing innovative solutions that matter Software proficiency including HRIS, payroll, ATS, Performance management, compensation planning, MS Office applications, and database management.

Experience with Workday highly preferred.
