Director – Information & Cyber Security

nn Description nn nnGI Alliance is seeking an experienced Director of Information and Cyber Security.nn nn n nn nn Position purpose nn nnThe Director of Information and Cyber Security will be responsible for improving and maintaining a corporate-wide information security management program to ensure that information assets are adequately protected.

This role will work with executive management to determine acceptable levels of risk for the organization and ensure the timely identification, remediation, documentation, and tracking of technical, procedural and policy-based items that impact security.nn nn n nn nn Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks : nn nnReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.nn Continued development of the information security program to enable consistent, repeatable, and effective information security practices that minimize risk and ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of information that is critical to the delivery of patient care within the organization.

Implementation and ongoing maintenance of information security and risk management program, including the identification, development, implementation, and maintenance of the GI Alliance security policies and procedures in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements in coordination with management.

Responsible for managing the information security risk assessments including the management and documentation of the periodic HIPAA and Cyber risk assessments/analysis, mitigation, and remediation.

Serves as internal consultant and advisor to the CIO and other leadership on information security and foster a culture of cyber security both with the IT organization and to drive behavioral changes for the business.

Informs CIO of conditions and operational security exceptions, their impact and pertinent factors influencing them.

Maintains fluency in security trends, evolving threats, risks and vulnerabilities and associated tools and strategies to mitigate risk.

Manages, coordinates, and leads responses for all associated security incidents and events including responding to potential breaches of electronic protected health information (ePHI).

Works closely with the CIO and Compliance and Privacy Officer to ensure alignment between security and privacy compliance programs including policies, practices, training, and investigations, and acts as a liaison to the information systems and compliance departments.

Maintains current knowledge of applicable security laws, licensing and certification requirements and accreditation standards.

Provides input to the financial aspect to the information security budget, including the development of, and direction, of financial objectives, budgets, and expenditures.

Develops, collects and manages project plans and metrics associated with the delivery of the information security program.

Recommends and plans information technology to support and meet company objectives based on research and evaluation.

Identifies potential threats and responds to reported security violations to determine causes, possible solutions, and remediation required to ensure data security.

Assist the Exec Director, Technical Services in the vetting, design and implementation of newly acquired network security technologies.

Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

nn n nn nn Qualifications nn nn Education/Experience: nn Bachelor s degree in computer science or other technical/scientific discipline.

10+ years related work including 5+ years as in security.

2+ years in a dedicated information security role at a senior level including cybersecurity experience specializing in enterprise security optimization Knowledge of common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001, and NIST.

CISSP or equivalent certification required.

nn Essential Skills and Experience: nn Leadership: a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.

Strategy and planning: an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-24 month time span.

Demonstrated understanding of Information Security best practices.

Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.

Experience in developing and deploying security specific solutions including the automation of repeatable security tasks and controls Experience with security vulnerability and penetration tools, remediation, and processes.

Strong customer orientation.
