Director of Operations

Medical Optometry America

This is a Contract position in Houston, TX posted September 3, 2021.

Medical Optometry America (MOA) is the first national Optometric brand focused exclusively on medical eye care.

MOA is launching a practice management system and franchise model that stand for exceptional medical eye care as the demand for those services increases.

The Director of Operations will partner with corporate leadership, and Clinical Managers to support the business management of the organization.

There will be responsibilities in all areas of the practice, including but not limited to: financial, human resources, strategic planning, contract negotiations and executive management relations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic ManagementAssist Board in long range planning for the organization, carry out the plans and policies of the Board.

Monitor, evaluate and oversee practice management and/or billing company, lawyers, accountants, and insurance products.

Advise & support payer contract negotiations.

Personnel ManagementFacilitate and support maximizing clinical personnel as efficiently as possible.

Manage personnel recruitment.

Develop & maintain employee performance evaluation mechanism.

Develop & maintain job descriptions & employee handbooks.

Enforce personnel policies and other guidelines.

Oversee Doctor credentialing processes.Financial ManagementReview monthly financial statements, identify irregularities and trends.

Develop annual budgets for Board / Operating Committee reviews.Monitor Revenue cycle, billing, and collections.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in health services / administration, Graduate degree preferred.

7 years’ experience with medical group practice administration (ophthalmology practice experience preferred).

Experience with a multi-site organization.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
