Job Description:National Railroad Safety Services, Inc.

(NRSS) is seeking a District Manager
– Rail to support field services for Class 1 Railroads, Regional Short Lines, Transit Systems, State DOT’s, as well as Railroad Suppliers, Contractors, and Consultants alike.

Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, and/or Railroad Business (Preferred).

Equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

Required Experience:Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in Railroad Engineering, Railroad Design, Railroad Construction, and/or Railroad Business (Class 1 Preferred).

Job Requirements: * Proven experience as a District Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Project Manager.* Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office products.* Demonstrated team building and verbal/oral skills.* High level of accuracy and attention to detail required; well organized.* Strong technical writing ability.* Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships.* Direct, develop, and evaluate projects using accepted project management methodologies.* Develop criteria for evaluating programs, schedules, and other pertinent information related to project assignments.* Develops project schedules, work plans, resources requirements, cost estimates, and projections.* Monitor and manage project quality to ensure project deliverables are acceptable and fulfill the terms of the project contract and/or specifications.* Identify potential project risks and difficulties and design strategies to mitigate or avoid them.* Compile and distribute project information, status reports, and project expenditures.* Create documentation procedures to capture and deal with changes in original project plan.* Monitor and manage employee overtime and expenses.* Plan, assign, and/or supervise the work of others.

Job Duties: * Manage rail, transit, and/or roadway projects.* Manage staff and activities for projects varying in size and complexity and coordinate schedule, procedures, and resources needed to accomplish project objectives.* Establish work plans and staffing for each phase of project and arrange for recruitment and/or assignment of project personnel as required.* Communicate with executives and recommend project alternatives and/or schedule changes.* Manage all aspects of the entire project life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, close).* Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.* Prepare project reports for management, client, and/or others.* Effectively lead and coordinate the activities of the team.* Develop and maintain strong client relationships.* Identify and manage tasks as assigned.* Other duties as assigned.
