The Global Bids Manager will report to the Vice President of Strategic Accounts

Job Overview

The Global Bids Manager provides thought leadership to the Bids and Proposal function across the organization. Is accountable for management and process compliance across the regional portfolio of the business, development of personnel to ensure optimal performance, leads the bid team to achieve bid objectives, and promotes general improvements of department and systems. They ensure the bids team aligns and upholds company values. They create innovative solutions and develop strategies while complying with client requirements to achieve their ultimate goal of securing winning bids.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • Continuously improve the bids and proposal process to meet the needs of the organization on a global level.
  • Provide direction, advice, though leadership, and oversee the project management of all major global bid opportunities, taking active management of the entire process.
  • Set up smart and effective quarterly regional goals. Visualize the bid picture, as to what we want to accomplish in one year. Set milestone for each quarter and work with the regional bids leads to ensure consistent and realistic expectations. Focus on communication and collaboration to ensure things are moving as planned.
  • Show appreciation, lead by example, create structure and a culture of leaders. Always be accessible.
  • Encourage a vision of excellence, continuous improvement, creativity, and innovation.
  • Ensure the bids function is regarded as best practice and the center of expertise for the organization to produce successful bids.
  • Analyze request for information (RFIs), request for proposals (RFPs), pre-qualification, and vendor registrations.
  • Develop all proposal material including but not limited to proposal outline, compliance matrix, management plan, production plan, proposal schedule, and ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Create bid strategies by guiding the bid team and working with key stakeholders to identify, capture, and develop win themes for each opportunity.
  • Work with the Commercial Operations Manager to ensure that appropriate support is being provided to each region at all stages of each bid.
  • Oversee and expedite information gathering and compilation.
  • Ensure the proposal quality is effective, accurate, thorough, and presented in a professional manner.
  • Review, on an ongoing basis, bid templates and content to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Ensure the Bids SharePoint site remains the global repository for all bid activity.
  • Collaborate with the marketing to develop material such as, print case studies, video case studies, country profiles, brochures, presentations, etc.
  • Continuously manage, maintain, and improve relevant up-to-date content in Qvidian.
  • Provides Bid updates reporting to regionals VPs on an annual basis along with progress of any regional strategic initiatives.

  • Bachelor s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in Bid Management
