Information Technology Manager

Sanden International (U.S.A.), Inc.

Sanden International (U.S.A), Inc. is a Japanese owned and traded company with presence in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. We are the world’s largest independent manufacturer of air conditioning compressors for automotive, heavy truck, agriculture, and construction industries.

Purpose of this Job:

This job is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading computer-related systems and processes to support operations efficiently and cost effectively.

Manages 1-5 technical professionals while maintaining responsibility for departmental operations.

Job Requirements:

Principle Duties/Essential Functions:

  • Develop short and strategic, long term plans for the department including evaluation, recommendation and implementation of structure, architecture, and systems.
  • Lead large IT projects, including the design and deployment of new IT systems and services.
  • Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure.
  • Analyze business requirements by partnering with key stakeholders across the organization to develop solutions for IT needs.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for development and maintenance of ERP software (IQMS)
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to internal IT.
  • Plan and manage department investment plan, expense budget and staffing plan.
  • Develop and implement contingency planning/disaster recovery plan.
  • Support processes and procedures within JSOX (Japanese version) compliance and ISO certification requirements

Other Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining land line and handheld phone/data systems.
  • Monitor daily operations, including server, hardware, software, networking, and enterprise system
  • To display an understanding of corporate and management process, and be able to clearly explain company policies, systems, and procedures.
  • The ability to clearly define resource (Human and mechanical) objectives and monitor/measure performance. Successfully lead a team to achieve timely and effective results.
  • The ability to interact internally and externally to an effective level. Includes written (Letter, fax, e-mail) and verbal (Phone, face-to-face, large meeting).
  • To be capable of logically sequencing tasks within a designated time frame to produce a desired result.
  • Think creatively and strive to continuously improve.
  • Implement task & procedures efficiently to minimize wastage of effort, time, and money.
  • Oversee the operation of assessing IT vulnerabilities and threats in the workplace and identify possible risks to the business.
  • The ability to use the planning system to ensure timely introduction of an advanced product.
  • Understand and implement the principal laws, third party regulations and policies which are particularly relevant to the use of information and IT.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field required.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 10 years’ IT Management experience with a minimum of 5 years with an ERP Software
  • Requires technical knowledge of iSeries System and Network/PC infrastructure.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Requires presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while adhering to project schedules
  • Experience in managing people in an Information Technology environment
  • Experience with SQL/PLSQL code, specifically Oracle/SQL server
  • Experience with ERP Software (IQMS) modules
  • Experience with creating, maintaining, and development of complex stored procedures
  • Experience working in a manufacturing and/or engineering environment with an emphasis on ERP, CAD, EDI, and Network preferred
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Licenses or Certifications:

  • None required

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods
  • Must be able to maintain mental attention for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Steel toed shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses in the production areas.

Work Environment/Hours:

  • 8:00 am – 5:00 pm with some evenings or weekends depending on the project
