Position Summary:The Business Office Manager directs the overall administrative, billing, accounting, and payroll functions of the Business Office in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:Must have a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent experienceTwo (2) years of office management experience preferredOne (1) year in post acute care or other geriatric related field preferredSpecific Job Requirements:Must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the business office functions in the post acute care facilityMust possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actionMust be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facilityMust have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the departmentMust perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitationMaintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential informationMust understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance proceduresDisplays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance trainingEssential Functions:Must be able to effectively manage and oversee bookkeeping functions including: posting payments and charges to patient ledgers, balance daily receipts, collect delinquent accounts, and evaluate need for and refer delinquent accounts to collection agencieMust be able to maintain facility checkbook and reconcile checkbook regularlyMust be able to manage and oversee patient accountsMust be able to recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervisor business office staffMust be able to effectively manage and operate within budgetMust exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patientsMust be able to assist in the evacuation of patientsMust demonstrate dependable, regular attendanceMust be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgmentMust be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary teamMust be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hoursMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English languageAn Equal Opportunity Employer
