The Bakken is one of the company’s three key growth areas within its Lower 48 business unit, with a development area covering approximately 610,000 net acres at the end of 2020. The company’s activities focus on unconventional tight-oil play development and production in the most prolific portion of the basin. Operational and capital efficiencies continue to improve in the basin through the use of multi-well pad drilling, completion optimization, facility design changes and data analytics. For more details visit: Living in the Bakken.DescriptionIf you are selected as the Maintenance Superintendent, this position ensures safe, reliable, and cohesive Maintenance of ~850 wells and ~110 central tank batteries across North Dakota. Maintenance scope ranges from single well facilities to large bulk and test sites and includes gas lifted wells and compressors, ESPs, and rod pumps, encompassing planned and corrective maintenance. The role has responsibility for staff in the Dickinson and Watford City offices and is a key member of the Bakken Operations Leadership Team (BOLT).This is a field-based position located in North Dakota with possible occasional travel to other ConocoPhillips L48 operations or Houston.This is a safety-sensitive positionResponsibilities may include:* Support and comply with the policies, goals, efforts, and programs of ConocoPhillips’ Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Management System. Ensure HSE issues are given primary consideration in all activities undertaken within area of responsibility. Unsafe acts and/or conditions, no matter in what area of responsibility, are to be reported so corrective actions can be taken* Work closely with other Leadership Team Members to ensure alignment and consistency on delivering performance targets to meet annual BU goals* Direct supervision of a team of 4 Supervisors with an organization of >50 staff and fulltime contingent workers.* Visible Leadership presence across the Bakken operating area, focused on maintenance function* Verify that policies and procedures are followed during daily activities.* Ensure maintenance activity is aligned with and supportive of the BU vision for ObX and GHG emissions reduction* Assist the Ops Manager in the development of strategic maintenance plans and execution strategies* Support development and execution of defect elimination program.* Ensure costs and schedules are maintained in line with approved budgets and goals* Work closely with the Operations, Planning & Scheduling, Project, and Engineering Teams on effective commissioning of new equipment* Liaise with Engineering staff to ensure equipment is installed and maintained to function as intended – effectively and reliably* Interface with operations, service providers, and construction teams to plan, schedule and coordinate project handoffs* Ensure all maintenance and project activities are completed effectively, safely, and efficiently* Assist/Lead incident investigations in relation to incidents* Work closely with the E/I Supervisor and the Bakken Operations Center to support deployment of consistent and reliable information / data / control systems* Delegate for Ops Manager when requestedBasic/Required:* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, or an alien admitted as permanent resident, refugee or asylee* Current/Valid driver’s license* Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 20% of the time on a yearly basis* 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry* 5+ years of supervisory experience managing multi-disciplinary teams* Advanced level of proficiency in maintenance or engineering with exposure to a diverse range of asset types, cultures, and operationsPreferred:* Mechanical Piping (separators, tanks, etc)* I/E controllers and end devices* Compression packages competency* Knowledge in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) / Energy Isolation Procedure (EIP) concepts and philosophies* Competent in organizational leadership including the establishment of vision, goal, strategy, and tactics.
