Manager, Electric Propulsion Engineering:

Bell is seeking a self-motivated, experienced leader in Electric Propulsion to join Bell’s Innovation Team and support the development and demonstration of innovative next generation vertical lift aircraft.

This working manager will be directly involved in the development of electric propulsion systems and avionics for military and commercial aircraft. This position will lead a diverse team of engineers in a rapid prototyping environment with broad exposure to a range of projects and programs.

Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for design and development of electrical systems and avionics with a primary focus on electric propulsion Planning, scheduling and budgetary input to program leadership Developing an overall system architecture and integration plan Lead system requirement development and decomposition efforts Oversee and advise design reviews and testing Mentor and guide direct reporting engineers Manage scope and execution of avionics and electrical subcontractors Provide weekly updates and assist in proposal efforts for commercial and military products
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Software, Aerospace, Electrical engineering or related degree.

Self-motivated, and a proven leader Minimum of 8 years of experience Experience in electrical system and avionics development with several development cycles managing and implementing complex systems.

Comfortable leading a multidiscipline team in a rapid development environment Knowledge of the following is preferred: Electric motors and electric motor control, energy storage systems (ESS), and high voltage electrical system design.

Avionics system development and testing in a systems integration lab Development of system architectures and schematics.

Generation of System Safety Assessments, Failure Hazard Analysis, and Certification and Test plans.

Thermal analysis and thermal management Aircraft flight test Aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting
