Manager of Marketing & Growth for Early Stage Startup (Remote)

We have just raised a round of investment and are looking to build out a Marketing team, and need a Director of Marketing to help set up the function and help us double our revenue and user base over the next year. 

Our fast-growing tech startup is looking to bring on a Marketing and Growth Manager.

This person will be a foundational team member at a scaling company, and get to build up our platform from the ground up.

This includes both b2b and b2c marketing, as well as input into our strategy and operations.

We are looking for someone with strong digital marketing experience within early stage startups, who has a demonstrated track record of building and scaling a user-base.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, motivated, and full of ideas on how to scale SquarePeg’s clients (companies) and job seekers (users). This person would be identifying and overseeing all digital marketing efforts and experiments across channels.

We have a small 8 person team that is growing quickly, so you would have the chance to be a part of something big from the earliest stage.

We are looking for someone who can execute and manage a team.


The focus of this role is to build, manage, and scale Facebook, Google, and LinkedIn Ad campaigns.

You will accomplish this by working closely with our Operations Team to build, maintain, troubleshoot, and scale ad campaigns.

We’re looking for someone with a strong attention to detail, who is also able to spot trends, problems, and opportunities for their accounts and convey those to our Operations Manager.

Develop a 30-60-90 day marketing plan for both B2B and B2C which may include ads, email, webinars, etc Facebook, Instagram, Google, and LinkedIn Ad campaign management and oversight  Work closely with our graphic designer to oversee designs for ads   Understanding of the Facebook SOPs inside and out for building campaigns to specifications Develop and maintain a complete knowledge of Google, LinkedIn and Facebook tools for building campaigns, audiences, conversion tracking, and other tools used in delivering results for customers  Create clear goals and reporting metrics using analytics in Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn Ad Manager dashboard Interpret numbers as they relate to real world traffic flows in a campaign  Spot problem areas in campaigns and bring them to the account team’s attention Define KPIs and effectively optimize channel execution, while identifying tactics with high retention Create models to measure cost and ROI Identify improvements to user onboarding using tools like hotjar to identify drop offs and site navigation Work with CEO and sales team to create collateral (1 pagers, micro sites, decks, videos, case studies, blogs, etc) that can be used to drive traffic, awareness, and conversions Hire contractors on an as needed basis for things like blogging, SEO, and other experiments Meet daily with CEO, marketing associate, and sales lead on strategy & performance
6+ years of digital marketing experience Strong knowledge of ads (creating, deploying, measuring) using Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, etc Strong knowledge of Google Analytics and other reporting tools Preference for those with both B2B and B2C marketing experience Experience working at a scaling tech startup is a plus Experience with anything related to HR tech is a plus Ability to work as a contributor (not just as a manager or someone who outsources everything to agencies)
