This is a Full-time position in Fort Worth, TX posted September 1, 2021.

Due to the nature of our business relationships that create constant demand, our trucks are on the road all year long.

All maintenance is completed on weekends to avoid driver and vehicle downtime.

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, this position is responsible for directing and coordinating activities of yard workers engaged in loading and unloading materials and performs other related duties as assigned.


Other duties may be assigned.Acknowledges and assists all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.Coordinates activities of workers in the use and maintenance of machines and equipment in the yard.Unload building materials off rail cars.Assist in ordering rail to the yard to maximize unloading.Completes all yard paperwork and documentation of incoming and outgoing material in a timely manner and returns paperwork to office yard receivers.Directs workers in loading and unloading materials and in the use and care of machines and equipment.Assigns the daily work and responsibilities to yard personnel.Responsible for yard security including the safety and maintenance of fuel tanks, safekeeping and storage of equipment in designated areas.Maintain all equipment and the yard itself in a safe and clean manner.Trains workers in the safety operation of the equipment and yard operations.Coordinates and participates in all safety meetings and programs.Verifies all yard paperwork and documentation of material going in or out of the yard.Coordinates and inspects specified quantity and quality of shipments coming to and going from the yard.Develops a working knowledge of all products inventoried.Participate in inventory control and reconciliation.Abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Good reading, writing and mathematical skills.Requires 1 to 3 years related yard or distribution center experience plus 1 year of lead experience preferred.Knowledge of weight classifications and proper loading procedures for all vehicles preferred.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Must have good verbal and written communication skills and possess the ability to interact with customers in a professional manner.Ability to use and operate an adding machine, copier, typewriter, personal computer, and any other office equipment required to perform duties.Knowledge of a variety of software including but not limited to spreadsheet and word processing applications.Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics.Regular attendance in required.
