Operational Excellence Quality Manager

Allied Reliability

This is a Full-time position in Houston, TX posted June 7, 2021.

The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall administration of the Quality Management System (QMS).

As the primary ISO 9000 representative, the Quality Manager will coordinate all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance, and audit of the QMS per ISO 9001 requirements.

The Quality Manager works tirelessly to ensure that Allied’s employees, products, services, and processes meet the needs of our clients.

The Quality Manager ensures that all company products and services meet quality standards before they go to market.

The Quality Manager helps communicate expectations to employees about the QMS, train employees to understand quality standards, and provide coaching and corrective action when needed.

Primary responsibility includes understanding customer expectations and needs, outlining quality standards, and developing quality control processes.

The Quality Manager is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating internal delivery processes, examining products and services to determine their quality, and engaging with customers to gather product feedback.

Overall responsibility for implementation and execution of the QMS.

Design, implement, and improve company quality standards.

Training, motivating, coaching, and correcting employees to ensure that standards are met.

Create and assist Allied’s management staff in implementing the in-house means of meeting ISO 9001 requirements, plus customer special requirements, as it relates to the company’s QMS.

Understand customer needs and expectations to develop effective quality control processes.

Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met.

Perform contract review to identify contract quality requirements and generating and ensuring implementation of a Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) on the program consistent with those requirements.

Assist in setting requirements for suppliers and monitoring their compliance.

Track, record, and maintain quality assurance data.

Ensure that products and services adhere to quality standards Serve as the company ISO Management Representative.

Responsible for internal quality audits, management review meetings, and reporting of both.

Responsible for representing the company during customer quality/supplier audits.

Work with both customers and suppliers as to achieve positive results on issues.

Communicate and escalate quality, customer satisfaction, and program performance issues to the team and business leaders as necessary for timely resolution.

Establish, track, and report on quality metrics.

Analyze QMS data to find areas for improvement and growth.

Other duties as assigned.

Demonstrated experience with ISO 9000 and implementation and management of an ISO 9001 Quality Management System Hands-on knowledge of meeting ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and/or AS9100 requirements In-depth understanding of quality standards, quality control procedures, and relevant legal standards Experience with lean principles (Six Sigma) Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to review systems and pose solutions Data analysis and statistical aptitude Technical proficiency (MS Office and other programs) and ability to generate reports Verbal and written communication skills to convey information in reports, meetings, and status reports Detail-oriented Proven organizational and leadership skills Ability to operate under deadlines while still meeting standards

Education and Experience
BSc/BA in Business Administration, Engineering, or other related field Associate degree with experience in the field may be substituted ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) or Certified Quality Engineer preferred Certified Quality Inspector or other quality control certification advantageous Lead Auditor Training a plus A minimum of 5 years of experience in a quality position including familiarity with ISO 9000 Quality System Standards, essential A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated leadership experience
