Veterans Preferred – Sr Director, National Siting, Technology Procurement

The Infrastructure Procurement and Business Operations team’s mission is to provide a compelling competitive advantage to T-Mobile by obtaining industry setting pricing without sacrificing quality across the critical infrastructure procurements portfolio of responsibility.

This Sr. Director will drive critical infrastructure procurement strategies and adoption across the organization. The acquisition of Sprint has driven an unprecedented need for strategic analytics, planning and tool development to align organizations to maximize synergy results for the company. This Sr. Director will have a comprehensive focus on site leasing activities across the company to align plan of record activities, decom activities and budget confinements.

  • 10+ years of managing wireless cell site master lease agreements
  • 8+ years of experience of finance and accounting treatment of cell site leases
  • Deep understanding and ability to lead analytics for tools and reporting
  • Capability to bring development resources together to focus on the evolution of CIP and P&S platforms such as Salesforce, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, etc.
  • 10+ years leading high impact site development teams
  • Strategic thinker
  • Strong communication and team building skills
  • Strong relationship builder, ability to gain alignment with internal and external stakeholders and customers
  • Proven track record of success leading large teams as a positive influence, coach, and mentor

  • Develops and delivers future state vision and strategy for Technology National Siting Contracts (MLA, In-Building, Small Cell) related business systems that guides the evolution of T-Mobile’s network and critical infrastructure. Ensures that efficient methods are used (accomplishing national build objectives, speed to market, cost savings and avoidance, and managing contractual rights) are implemented to maximize the value of technology and services.
  • Develops upstream/downstream strategy and processes to improve MLA contracts, through negotiation and key governance controls. Directs team to sustainable strategies for MLA and Non-MLA partners driving spend analysis, market considerations, and strategic importance to support current and future needs of the business.
  • Drives all continuous process governance improvement initiatives: providing critical analysis of current process to identify areas of governance opportunities (services, quality, cost, tools, etc.) for improving planning, forecasting, leasing standards, and cost reduction.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders among Engineering, Development, and Procurement teams to identify key critical infrastructure build initiatives, as well as MLA rent reduction opportunities with strategic site relocations and site OEM designs.
  • Leads, coaches, and challenges the team of sourcing and siting professionals to maximize their strengths and provide them opportunities for skill and career advancement.
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively in accordance with SOX and industry best practices.
  • Work cross-functionally with RF, Legal, Regulatory, and external partners to gain understanding of demand trends and forecasting of industry needs and critical infrastructure siting constraints. Oversee cross-functional team to identify opportunities to drive cost out of the business while increasing quality.
  • Partner with Engineering, Sales, Marketing to develop In-Building services and strategies which contribute to enterprise goals – consistent with the overall corporate strategy, while considering cost challenges to grow at scale.
  • Ensures National Siting Contract’s strategy and spend is shared/received in the format, level of detail, and timing required by all customers, engineering, accounting, investor relations, marketing, and strategic sourcing with documented assumptions. Analyzes performance and trends, identifies opportunities, and risks, and proactively communicates to cross-functional teams. Develops and delivers future state vision and strategy for Strategic Analytics, Planning and National Lease Governance and related business systems that guides the evolution of T-Mobile’s network.
  • Drives standard in leasing to the markets and regions to comply with National MLA contracts and MLA negotiation tactics; holds MLA partners to the details of the MLA contracts and what we are entitled on.
  • Financial Strategy and Management for Critical Infrastructure Procurement.
  • Develop strategies to drive synergy accomplishments across all orgs. Ensuring that the full network is taken into consideration and optimizing the decom schedule across all sites.
