Product Manager Sr

Overview: The Sr.

Product Manager draws upon a deep understanding of the market to drive the development of new products and/or enhance current products, and takes a leadership role in guiding product family strategy.

This role is accountable and responsible for long-term product strategies, product development leadership, product lifecycle management, building/managing strong relationships, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities: Planning & Strategy Develops long-term product roadmaps at the product family level, encompassing comprehensive and differentiated product line strategies that support profitable growth today while delivering innovation that will strengthen A-dec’s competitive position in the future.

Leverages A-dec’s distinctive competence to identify market/investment opportunities and develop business cases.

Implements strategies that impact the broader business, continually monitors business achievement to benchmark goals, and refines product strategy based on market feedback.

Works closely with Director to determine strategic direction and effectively influences senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Product Development Routinely acts as Project Chief, working with diverse, cross-functional teams on large or medium sized product development projects.

Accountable and responsible for the vision of the project.

Consistently meets key project milestones and product launch dates.

Develops market requirements.

Specifically, listens to both what customers do and don’t say to finds their needs, employs cross-functional groups to couple current knowledge of these needs with existing and future technologies, and develops a deeper understanding of what customers will pay for by employing outcome driven innovation.

Considers the desired value propositions from customers, designs or enhances products to fit those needs, and then defines the value related to the products.

Executes field validation of new products and coordinates site locations, installations, and evaluation procedures.

Product Line Management Sets performance metrics and pricing to meet margin goals based on comprehensive market and competitive research.

Demonstrates financial responsibility, recognizes and understands financial trends, and proposes actionable responses.

Responsible for the entire lifecycle of existing products, including product quality and obsolescence, but focuses primarily in product development.

Supports sales force through training, promotions, and marketing collateral content.

Partner & Business Development Develops and has direct responsibility for key external partnerships.

May lead new business ventures, identifying new product or service offerings that better meet the needs of existing markets.

Continuous Improvement (people development and/or process improvement) Continually develops technical competence and business acumen in order to improve company capability and corporate business processes that enhance A-dec’s market position.

Invested in staff development and strives for results by communicating job expectations, mentoring team members, offering career planning guidance, and monitoring and appraising job results.

Qualifications: Generally requires a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering, or other related discipline with approximately 8 years of progressively increased responsibility in product management or development.

Has a deep, detailed knowledge of dental industry practice along with a strong understanding of current and future trends along with a high level of business acumen.

Also has the unique ability to anticipate customer needs, both current and future.

Experience leading projects, teams, and/or people with the capacity to tightly manage all aspects of product development.

Must also have the ability to successfully work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.

Requires excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications Preference may be given to candidates holding a master’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related discipline, or a Project Management Certification.
