Production Manager

Bonnell Aluminum

This is a Contract position in Garland, TX posted September 11, 2021.

The Paint Line Manager provides leadership to ensure maximum utilization of resources, resulting in lower cost production and optimum quality.

The Paint Line Manager leads the way to maximize profits, improve customer satisfaction, meet on-time deliveries, and increase employee satisfaction.

Major areas of responsibility include: Functional Specific Activities : Managing resources in areas of responsibility to achieve maximum efficiencies while maintaining optimal levels of quality.

Involve all workers in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to ensure equipment and machinery function optimally while minimizing breakdowns.

Establish a safe working environment in all areas of the department.

Coordinate production scheduling with Production Control to ensure on-time deliveries while keeping customer lead times at 6 weeks or less.

Manage material ordering process (ie: paint supplies) to ensure supplies are available for production runs.

Staffing, training and development, scheduling, succession planning Assist Plant Manager in capacity planning.

Maintain & improve customer relationships.

Inter-company relationships – Sales, Production Control, Quality Dept., Human Resources, Environmental Department, Maintenance.

Duties Establishing and communicating Bonnell’ s Vision, and making sure each Supervisor (and employee, in turn) understands how they contribute to that accomplishment.

Monitor progress of department (ie: quality, efficiencies, safety, on-time delivery, lead times) for course correction if necessary.

Employee development/training
– Personal coaching and feedback, directly to employees & supervisors -Deliver progressive discipline action, if necessary -Provide performance reviews for all employees semi-annually Customer Satisfaction: Learn Customer requirements and communicate to department employees.

Ensure consistency in following procedures.

Visit Customers to respond to concerns, build Relationships.

Production Planning at the Plant Level, Evaluate, department capacities and determine appropriate shifts, crews, and schedules.

Resource’s utilization – cost containment or reduction -Evaluate, purchase, and install equipment that reduces cost or improves Quality.

Direct Process Improvement Team effort.

Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Ensure Department is in compliance with all OSHA regs.

Ensure entire department is engaged in employee-based safety program Identify & correct any safety issues/behaviors in the department.

Ensure environmental and government regulation compliance.

Direct or coordinate any efforts concerning compliance with the Environmental Department.

Process Improvement: Promote and support Process Improvement Teams, involve employees in immediate Process Improvement efforts, Participate in TPM audits & Dept TPM projects.

Communication: Communicate with supervisors, and employees
– Communicate with other peer managers
– Communicate with Plant Manager keeping them informed of necessary details.

Communicate with Sales, Division Management, Production Control, Communicate with customers and suppliers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from a credited school preferred 5 yrs.

of manufacturing in Aluminum Extrusion and/or Paint process experience preferred.

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
